Always fun to see what the various books have to say; especially, book to book. And all the best friends in the world, etc.

I'm back after a long weekend. Monday and Tuesday were holidays, national holiday, Independence day.

This is a long thread, I'm a bit lost about this. Mick said something about what?

I can see why LB and JMc would have differing visions musically -- LB comes from a very sparse, tight pop/folk sensibility, whereas John really came from the blues, where the players really stretched and it was much less restricted. I think the way they were able to combine their visions is what elevated the music in the end, though I am sure LB was a pill to deal with in the studio.

But unlike just about every other dispute in this band, this seems like a genuine difference of opinion that isn't petty or spiteful or small, which I can live with.

It’s funny, but I was listening to “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” (long story). I was trying to focus on the lyrics, but the only thing I could focus on was James Jamerson’s bass playing and how much John’s playing reminded me of his.

How Lindsey couldn’t figure how to use that in a pop setting still perplexes me.
