Default NME "Albatross" Review - December 7, 1968

This New Musical Express review was published roughly the week before the single entered the UK singles chart. The final sentence is rather amusing now in retrospect.

Not what you might expect as a follow-up to "Need Your Love So Bad," this is a slow and brilliantly descriptive instrumental which older fans may liken to Santo and Johnny's hit of yesteryear "Sleepwalk". A delicate and technically exemplary guitar duet, supported by throbbing tom-toms and electric bass - with distant slide-guitar and crashing cymbals giving the effect of a soaring albatross. Excellent - but hardly chart material.
