I don't doubt the storm that filming Tango entailed, but I wonder if those photos I've seen where they're smiling, especially Lindsey and Stevie together (there are several), were isolated moments of joy, or pure professionalism to look happy in the picture.

You are funny
The photographer that took these photos was paid by the band. Its a fairly extensive photoshoot of all sorts of looks.....funny, smiling, serious, drama, etc. I dont think you can seriously engage what they were really thinking during photo shoots since they are all inauthentic and not natural. A spontaneous photo of the band is different.
My theory in your other thread about Tango's album cover was done for simplistic reasons and not having to be around each other. It was easy and simple and already existed. Lindsey had enough of Mick and Stevie at this point.

I think John McVie was also funny. Cause according to the Rumours photographer, though there already were the divorces and the not getting along, John started those spontaneous hugs. And I suppose the photoshoot must have been extensive and paid for as well.

John hugs Lindsey

Did you ever watch the 20th anniversary Rumours documentary? Herbert talks about the photoshoot and starts crying talking about it.
Edit: Oh you posted a link of what I just wrote.

Anyone who considers themselves a diehard fan of Fleetwood Mac should have that DVD. IMO, it's almost as essential as owning the album because the insight and stories really put together why Rumours and those five people were magic.

Its the dawn of the big hair late 80s. This is the highest hair Chris has ever had, no? For Seven Wonders its a bit down from this and then straight for Little Lies. Lindsey and Mick have so much make up on even from a distance. I love the sound of Mick playing drums over the recorded track. Others can pretend to play their instruments, not Mick.
No scenes of Stevie playing that tambourine make the video. They don't look like they are enjoying the experience very much. This was their first music video together since Hold Me.
Mick wrote that the Big Love cost a quarter million. But 250k was 835k of today. I wonder how much did the Hold Me video cost, I guess much less.

By the way, judging by the clothes they wore on the beach, no surprise they chose a weather completely opposite to the Hold Me desert.

I could be wrong but I remember Gypsy cost $75,000 which was a ton of dough in 1982. I never heard about Hold Me. Stand Back (second cut) cost $50,000 in 1983. I only know that because it was in a magazine about the second shoot that cost $50,000 because she did not like the first one.

Was not Madonna's Express yourself the first video to cost 1 million to make?

According to Wikipedia it cost 5M. When I see the list I wonder why some videos cost so much; they don't seem so wonderful to me. Well, those were different times.
