The 2018 Fleetwood Mac had an issue with playing 1988-1992 songs.

I don't know if Lindsey would have played All Over Again if Stevie asked him to. He did play Stand Back and he had nothing to do with that solo song of Stevie's.

“Stand Back” was Top 5 hit and a Fleetwood Mac setlist staple since 1987 (when Stevie was in the band). Given where his career was going into 1997, I’m sure he picked his battles.

If they really wanted to highlight 50 years of Mac, they should have dropped LB’s 3 songs and did BTM songs and dropped the covers for Time songs. Just to respond to a different post, I believe I was the person who said Lindsey didn’t seem to want to perform Isn’t It Midnight live, but I never said it was a fact, just an opinion. FM performed it in 1987, 1990, and 2018, all without Lindsey; and Lindsey never performed it with FM, not in the Dance, the tour where Christine returned, or for Buck/Vie. I mean, it’s not hard to see the common denominator. And there’s nothing wrong with it, if for some reason he didn’t want to perform it live, so what?

Personally, I was glad Christine dropped Songbird live. I don’t even think she performed it during the Buck/Vie tour. I love the song, but I was thrilled to get a different song instead. I didn’t get the feeling All Over Again was some sort of F U to Lindsey.

Stand Back was a surprise when Lindsey rejoined, but he brought one of his solo songs to the setlist, too. I thought it was neat they brought those songs into the set, and it would have been even better if Christine had sung Got a Hold on Me, too.

I wonder if Christine asked Lindsey “Can we play Isn’t it Midnight?”. He is a co-writer and it wasn’t a hit single. Maybe he wasn’t able to play the guitar parts?
They didn’t play Songbird, Don’t Stop or World Turning on LBCM Tour, but they did play Game Of Pretend as the closing song, Wish You Were Here, Hold Me, some Christine hits, and 3 other new Chris songs.

Yes, they did SB and Go Insane for two tours and then for two tours they did SB only.

All Over Again was not an insult to Lindsey but just them saying we don’t regret firing Lindsey and we’d do it again tomorrow if we had to. They weren’t singing Planets Of The Universe or Fall From Grace!

Chris pretended like her solo career never existed when with Fleetwood Mac. She's all Fleetwood Mac and was not into showcasing her solo songs in the set of Fleetwood Mac. She could have done it in 1987, 1990, 1997. What killed me is she did not do any on the Buck/Vie tour either. I am sure Lindsey suggested and she declined. She loved being part of the band.

BTW, Stand Back was not really a surprise in 1997. It was done on 2 previous Mac world tours and Stevie loved the reaction from the crowd. In 1997 I was like, oh no, not again can we get Sara instead.

I think Mick loved playing Stand Back as well and if I'm not mistaken wasn't it his idea in the first place to bring it into the 1987 set?

During that 4 part MTV interview thing on Netflix, they were asked if they were doing any solo songs as part of The Dance setlist and Stevie said no and Chris brought up that they were working on one of Lindsey's (presumably Go Insane). And it wasn't played in May at the recording of the video/album. So, at some point over the summer during rehearsals it was decided to bring Stand Back into the set. I wouldn't be surprised if they felt the set had a lull in it and needed something upbeat from Stevie and she or Mick suggested it. I don't think by 1997 that Lindsey cared if she did a solo song, especially since he was doing one. And after that, for 10 years and three world tours, Stand Back held a prominent place in the main set as the penultimate song before Go Your Own Way. The biggest shock for me was that it wasn't included in 2014-15 or 2018-19.

Same here. So in 2014 and 2015 Stevie performed Dreams, Rhiannon, Sisters of the Moon, Seven Wonders, Landslide, Gypsy or Sara, Gold Dust Woman, Silver Springs. I guess either Sisters of the Moon or Silver Springs knocked Stand Back out since she always does the other songs (not Sara though after 2017). I wish she had done Angel instead of Sisters for On With The Show, but that song is in the gothic trunk of lost songs.

I very vaguely recall Lindsey decided the 2014-15 tour was only going to be the Fleetwood Mac 1975-87, 1997 material. I wouldn’t even know where to find that, but I remember thinking that was a great decision.

LOL! I have been busier than usual, but the main reason is there’s nothing going on right now with the band OR individual members. I came here because I saw on FB that the magazine had come out and was curious if there was more stuff in the interview with Stevie. Here is where I saw Mick did a show with Crowded House.

I have to admit, I’m worried about Lindsey. His latest retrospective/rereleases is out, and no interviews at all, nor a tour. And the lack of touring is understandable, as he toured not long ago. But the lack of interviews? He had been very talky following his departure from FM. Hopefully we’ll hear something soon. Or maybe I’m being paranoid after Christine’s passing.

I guess I was surprised by the addition of Stand Back in 1996 because they didn’t perform it on the Dance special, but Christine did the same thing with Oh Daddy. But swapping Stand Back for Sara probably wouldn’t have worked- as already noted, Stand Back is such an upbeat song, while Sara is not. Sara would have been so much better than Sweet Girl.

And the posts in his social media are just beautiful pictures and memories of better times. No comments about his current activity, the supposed next album, etc. I enjoy his pictures but it's kind of frustrating not to know anything about his future material.

I was relived that Stand Back was not done on the OWTS tour. With Chris back in the band they needed lots of room for her songs. No solo songs needed.
I loved the Dance with the band back together. But I wish they would have scrapped Go Insane, Stand Back, and Not That Funny for Sara, Little Lies, Isn't It Midnight. Lindsey was already doing 2 new songs while the girls only did one. I could have done without the new songs and Farmers Daughter too. It could have been the setlist from heaven. Save Me A Place, Love In Store too.
