Here’s the full quote:

What she’s saying is that she doesn’t understand their premise that it would have been a Fleetwood Mac album if she had participated , since she was on tour. She then goes on to give a justification for why Christine should have made the album.
this sentence makes zero sense. If she had participated, how would it NOT have been a FM album? Whether she was on tour or not, if she had participated in the album, along with Lindsey, Chris, Mick and John...it most certainly would have been a FM album..

Are you trying to say that she is saying they should have known she couldn't participate BECAUSE she was going out on tour?? That's totally different.

In the context of the entirety of her comment, that’s exactly what she was saying. She’d already delayed her solo plans by two years to do another Fleetwood Mac tour and I’m sure she was clear that she was going to be doing a 2016-17 solo tour.

So if Stevie didn't do the OWTS Tour in 2014, Fleetwood Mac (Mick, John, Christine, Lindsey) would not have played arenas?

She was being a team player to Irving Azoff and Mick. OWTS was their idea. But again, it's all about money and playing the hits with FM. Not about being artists like Bon Jovi or U2 and making albums.

As I’ve said before, there’s really no upside for modern day Stevie to have her songs measured against others.
Christine did not commit to returning to FM when she was in Maui. It was in the summer or fall of 2013. I'd love to think she would have done an album in 2013 but she only contributed one song to the EP.

She’s a megastar outside of band while the others are/were barely viable. So, no, the rules don’t apply to Stevie and it’s incredibly naive to expect otherwise.
But it's moral for her to lie like Trump and say "This is a team." "I'm not the boss in Fleetwood Mac"?

We have different visions for FM anyway. You don't want to hear new music. You want to hear pre-1975 music.

I want to hear new music (I hoped for a new album from the 2018 lineup) and songs from 1975-2013 including Behind The Mask but honestly, I'm not into Time but for the opening track and Nights In Estoril.

She could have said she doesn’t want to work with Lindsey period, but instead she used speculation about his health instead.

I love how she’s always got “solo plans” to rush back to, which usually amounts to a pot of beans. Oh, another boring hits tour that’s the same tour she did a year or two before.

I’ve said this before, she could have refused to do the 2014/2015 tour if she resented it that much, but then she would have nothing to complain about or anyone to deflect to.

The idiot that she is said the quiet part out loud. Her solo set is packed with Fleetwood Mac songs. She’s largely marketed by her Fleetwood Mac material. 90% of the folks packing into Mohegan Sun last week wouldn’t be able to tell you a single track off of TOSOTM, Rock a Little, or TISL.

I would like to think that perhaps she understands *why* he was there when nobody else was. but maybe i'm giving her too much credit...

I think you mean the Perfect family. But no, I don't think they'd ever make any statement. the point was respecting chris's wishes, and that, they did extraordinarily well.

Hey Lis, yes that is correct. That was an unintentional error.

Right!? You would think that’s the case. Based on these latest comments, I’m not so sure.

This part seems odd, although it's hard to know what time-frame Stevie was thinking of, but it was clear in June 2022 that Christine was not very well according to the Rolling Stone interview. Having said that it doesn't look as if Christine and Stevie were in touch much, if at all, after the final tour in 2019.

When we caught up with Christine McVie in June 2022, she had severe doubts about the viability of such a tour. “I don’t feel physically up for it,” she said. “I’m in quite bad health. I’ve got a chronic back problem which debilitates me. I stand up to play the piano, so I don’t know if I could actually physically do it. What’s that saying? The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Not without Stevie.

How much thought do you think went into hitting the road again after Christine McVie made it very obvious she wanted back in?

The whole genesis for Christine going to Hawaii was rediscovering her passion for the music after reading Ken’s book. He’s the one who told everyone she was on a flight to Hawaii with Mick and then that she was going to make a cameo at the Blues Band show. By the time the picture of Christine eating dinner with Mick and John in Hawaii was posted to the internet, her return seemed to be a foregone conclusion.

I enjoyed LBCM and I would have loved an album with Neil and Mike, so I don’t know where you’re getting that. However, I have zero enthusiasm for new Stevie Nicks music. New vs. pre-1975 is a false narrative. They (classic lineup) had like 12 songs they had to play, which means they could have played as many as eleven more songs (8 new, 3 pre-1975).

Chris had said they hadn't been in touch at all since the tour ended. and while i don't know if chris's back pain/health issues were in any way related to the cancer that eventually spread, stevie didn't seem to know about either one.

it just annoys me how all you see since chris died is pictures/articles saying how close and tight they were, 'best friends', 'they made a pact' blah blah, give me a break. And the phone goes both ways, so it was on both of them-- they lost touch with each other. that's just how life is sometimes. but for stevie to keep harping on the best friend thing-- and then to use it as an excuse for FMac not continuing! -- just seems very disingenuous at this point.

The Pact story has never not been funny to me since it first popped up before Christine returned.

Christine had been one of the guys since 1964. She wasn’t getting left out of parties.
