Thought of another one that definitely is an unpopular opinion.
I like Desert Angel. I think the military style drum march is pretty cool. The lyrics would be hard to put to music but I think it works rather well. I love the rare klonopin howls and screams at the end too. So rare. I think some of the lyrics are a bit arrogant and cheezy but somehow it all works.
I actually like all 3 new songs on Timespace.

Now everybody go get their water cannons ready. I will be right here.

So THAT'S why it was her best selling album.

Check.

I thought we weren't supposed to measure quality by sales? Or are we making an exception here?

I will also add that I think most of the singles from Stevie's solo career are quite mid. Like, I get why "Stand Back" was a hit in 1983, but it's aged poorly and I never feel a need to listen to it.
I always love you pop back up after a long sabbatical.

Soldier's Angel is one of the worst songsI've ever heard and I can never make it through to the end. It's like trying to eat a full can of salt.

As Long As You Follow should have have charted top 10.

Stevie should never sing on ISA, Don't Stop, and World Turning.

Skies The Limit keyboard voicings are really bad and Greg should be fired for letting her use them.

The Dance Chain is terrible in it's abbreviated style.

Dreams live is so boring, I wish Bekka was back. That's how bad it is. Dream solo live is even worse.

I love Big Love and all it's solo cousins. (too many to name)

I love Family Man

I love NTF live on Mirage and FM Live. But more Mirage.

Eyes of The World without Christine is just stupid.

Live in Boston is boring.

SYW is a sloppy mess.

When I See You Again is fabulous and her voice fits the lyrics. You people stop making fun of it!!

Stevie on piano breaks a law against nature. So bad.

Never Make Me Cry and Not That Funny should have been removed from the Tusk album and replaced with Silver Springs. Homer was the one who first pointed out how SS would have sounded perfect with all of SN's other Tusk songs and I wholeheartedly agree.

I would submit that none of these are unpopular opinions!

It's the $tevie way!

It's her BEST album, by far. It has nothing to do with numbers. It sounds like a real band. No synth pop garbage. Clearly, you lack taste.

The band hasn’t been terribly interesting (to me) or innovative as a live act since the 1980 shows. Up till that time, they had the same funky energy as the Talking Heads and were a truly great live act. After that, I was more interested in their studio work than their concerts.

Fleetwood Mac has this reputation for great harmonizing, but after Rumours, did they even harmonize that much? Or well?

Individually, the instrumentalists in the band from 1975 to 1997 (or 2015) were never virtuosos. Their individual technique on their respective instruments was hampered by being less than technically gifted. (Even Lindsey’s Travis picking is usually sloppy and stumbling.) Their style, however, is what made them fascinating. They were all such batsh*t, idiosyncratic players that the tension between their technical shortcomings and their personal voice is what made them legendary and what made them more enduring than the conventional hotshots in music. Think of Dylan: terrible singer in conventional terms but a vocal personality that is so “right” it’s legendary. Sometimes the oddballs feel up the yin and the yang of the music a million times better than the Eddie Van Halens and Keith Emersons.

Despite his songs — many of which are quite cool — onstage Bob Welch was charmless — sort of pushy and geeky. (Offstage, however, he was a good conversationalist in interviews.)
I’m not sure any of these are unpopular opinions. They seem spot on to me. The only thing I’d argue is that the band’s 1982 version of Not That Funny is among their best live work...

I assumed because they were mine, they would be unpopular by default.

Not a chance. Many of them strike me as obvious. I’m surprised no one has noticed my Kiln House comments (page 12).

Yea, I love that album. So, I glossed it. Love Danny, too.
