Maybe she will send one of her babushkas to the front line.

I like what she did for 9/11 when she was on tour. She would buy firefighters food outside her hotel. She visited Water Reed after the wars. She has power to organize and send some money. But as the Bible says the best charity is anonymous so maybe she did something. I don't remember any Katrina charity but she did write a song

I don't like to judge celebrities on charitable donations because you don't know if they do anything secretly and don't need the media to cover it. I do draw the line when a performer asks their fans to do something but they don't partake in the contributions. In the early 80s when the steel mills were closing around Pittsburgh, Bruce Springsteen would ask fans to bring can goods to the show for the food banks. He also would give the Pittsburgh food banks $10,000. $10k was a sizeable contribution in 1984 (not counting what his fans gave). He honored his fans by also contributing.

The summer of 1998 was a brutal dry summer. The everglades were on fire in South Florida. Heavy smoke limited visibility for only a few miles. All of south Florida reeked of a forest fire. Stevie's Enchanted tour was in full swing. The local radio station interviewed Stevie and the fires were brought up. Stevie mentioned the fire at her house and is the scariest thing for her. The radio station wanted to create a donation site at her concert. Her fans ended up donating a measly $1800 at the show for people impacted by the fires. Since she agreed to ask for donations from the stage and on the radio station, I thought it was appropriate for her to donate as well. I don't think that happened.

Do you really think she would do something good, and shun the attention?

I'm not a Bruce fan, but he is a man of the people. I'd love to hang out with him, as long as he doesn't YELL his songs at me.

Don't care for Bruce's music either, but there is a HUGE difference between his philanthropic intents and hers.

Stevie donated $10,000 of the profit from the West Palm Beach show to the local firefighters.

Thats nice. Too bad it was never reported in the paper when the next day they announced the total raised from the concert on the radio.
How do you know that? Personal knowledge? BTW, it was the victims of the fires that the benefit was for.

Personal knowledge. I think she donated the $10k to the Red Cross.

Her most recent post on Ukraine/Putin makes her seem as unhinged as Putin. "The ghosts are coming for you Mr. Putin" WTF??? The man is as soul-less as they come. He doesn't care who might be coming for him. His finger is hovering over the button as I type this. If one more Ukranian farmer takes one of his tanks, we are all gonna be radioactive. The "ghosts" included.
I agree--STTW part deux in the works.

STTW was actually written over 12 years ago .I don't think we have to worry about another one or a Desert/Soldiers Angel etc. The well has truly run dry.

I am in the tiny minority that loves Desert Angel. It should have been released as a single with all proceeds benefiting wounded warriors.
But everything with her Timespace era was mixed up.
