Right now I still don't believe this - but if true
at all, it could be a good thing. Lindsey finally
free of his chains.
*evil cackle*

Seriously, though: as much as I hate the circumstances that brought everyone here, it's nice to see a lot of familiar faces posting again.

Because you've committed to the loony bin, like the rest of us.

But seriously, because we have invested so much personally in the band over the years, they're a part of who we are now. We think about them every day like they're somehow our family! So that's why you'll have fans who want to know everything - even the gossip - and fans who can't bear to read anything until the official word comes out. Both are perfectly acceptable.

The thoughts that goes through my mind if this is all true (and I have to admit my earlier gung-ho dismissal of it has taken a bit of a knock) are:

Would it still be Fleetwood Mac?

Yes, of course. Silly question.

Would I buy an album/and or new songs (you never know...) by a new iteration?

Yes, I've bought them all, I'm not stopping now, even if it's not up to much.

Would I go and see them live?

Almost certainly not.

I've been on the road [solo] since last September, so I don't understand their premise. Christine was gone [from Fleetwood Mac] for 16 years and came back, did a massive tour, and then it's like, "Now I'm just gonna go back to London and sit in my castle for two years"? She wanted to keep working. I will be back with them at the end of the year for, I think, another tour. I just needed my two years off. Until then, I wish them the best in whatever they do.

Do you want to make a new record with them?
I don't think we'll do another record. If the music business were different, I might feel different. I don't think there's any reason to spend a year and an amazing amount of money on a record that, even if it has great things, isn't going to sell. What we do is go on the road, do a ton of shows and make lots of money. We have a lot of fun. Making a record isn't all that much fun.
"In whatever they do"? I can already picture her waving her hand with her "I don't care" attitude.

And it seems touring with Lindsey isn't fun at all anymore. But hey, she makes tons of money which is the most important thing after all.

How many times was the tour delayed because of the solo career. But Lindsey.... no, he can't do that because he doesn't fill arenas.

You don't fire someone for being a jerk. What did he do? Kill Stevie's dog?

So, if what you're saying is true, then Stevie is the reason why Lindsey was fired, as we all suspected. Because you don't force Mick to fire Lindsey just because he was a jerk. That's completely childish, even for Stevie.

Sadly I am beginning to suspect the story about the band being unable to work around Lindsey's solo album is just that, a cover story, and the real reason is something so petty and childish that it would embarrass everybody if it ever leaked

Apparently Lindsey can if he was "oh a jerk to Stevie".

No matter how much he contributed to the band, no matter how energetic he's on stage, no matter how many times he sacrificed his solo career for FM, he was a JERK to Stevie. Ok? So anyone is better than Lindsey. Because he was a JERK!

As long as they don't regret it.

Sounds like a parody of the Bonnie Caryn post ...

I think something did happen that night though, goodness knows how trivial the cause was. I wish those who knew would tell

Exactly. Being a fan of Fleetwood Mac means you have to be down for the drama.

I tend to think that there's truth to these rumors. We all know that Stevie and Lindsey fight (see Rolling Stone article from 2014), maybe it was just too much this time.

WHAT I AM HOPING: Mick and Stevie cool down for a few weeks and really think about what a Lindsey-less Fleetwood Mac would mean. This would be a HORRIFIC way to end, especially with all 5 still in the fold and willing to tour.

Like everyone else, this has broken my heart.

I wonder if any of them realize they dont necessarily have 3, 5, or 10 years to let the dust settle. It's not 1987 or even 2007 anymore. The sad reality is, if all of this is true I bet there will be regrets and it could be too late to ever get the train back on the rails.

I want to have faith that maybe they let things cool off, all of these alleged arrangements could be proactive in the event Lindsey refuses to sign on the line. Maybe they told him he has until a specific date to opt in or opt out or come to an agreement.

I still cant help but think of how on board Mick was with the Sheryl Crow incident on tbe BBC doc. He was still convinced it could of been an interesting chapter.

When the creativity stops and a band stops making music... almost everyone is replaceable to a certain extent. Its a sad situation for Mick or Stevie to say to the fans....we will play you the golden oldies with any guitarist. It really shows the extent they know things are over. One last tour? Oh lets just get a guitarist and do this already.
Why the fuss. Being in a band is more than just touring. Its about being a creative member.
Just imagine when Stevie kept extending her tour the band replaced her with Bekka to start their world tour.
IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN

Variety "has confirmed" the story, so it claims
