Yes! Those are the exact words she is singing!! Thank god there are others who hear correctly. It is so very clear and apparent. I'm amazed at how some people can miss-hear/rewrite the lyrics!!! Some of the interpretations don't even match the syntax or phrasing. Baffling! It's as bad as the Japanese interpreters who transpose the lyrics for the lyric sheets in their import versions. (Anyone who owns a Japanese import will know exactly what I mean...the interpretations are so far off they are comical)

And don't expect Stevie to confirm the lyrics. I doubt she could remember them herself! lol

Actually, these lyrics are dead on. I have trouble making out muddled lyrics unless I have (or know) what the lyrics are supposed to be, and after reading this and going to listen to it, I can discern that these are all the right words (although I still like "if love is what you feel and love is what you want"). The last line makes much more sense now. Thanks Brian.

To me, any Stevie song with lots of 'wells' in it counts as a goodie in my book. As a matter of fact, I am preparing a document now which will count the # of 'wells' uttered during Stevie's 1986 Jones Beach Theater appearance for each song, versus the amount uttered in each recorded track on the albums. I think it'll be a gas just to see the variance! For example, I will need a few more listens to make my final estimation...but I believe 'Edge of 17' from Jones Beach featured 26 'wells'! 26!!!!!!!

Well...in spite of the fact...Stevie didn't write Some Become Strangers...her vocals on that track...well, they are beautiful.

The title track...is one of my favorites...well, i love how 'vunerable her voice sounds'...it's as if she is that little girl...well, singing to her daddy...
