So, the AMEX presale and VIP packages are two separate entities, correct? If tomorrow is the regular old Amex presale, then those tickets are always crap.

Can we buy VIP packages tomorrow?

Yes there are two different presales tomorrow happening at the same time. I was told one does not have to have a AMEX card to purchase VIP tickets . One does need a credit/ debit card and THE PASSWORD. The password for the VIP presale still remains a mystery.

On LiveNation, for Boston and Mohegan it says the VIP packages are available to buy on Friday, not tomorrow. However, the AMEX presale does start tomorrow for those two shows. I only care about the VIP packages.

Something else that is not crystal clear is even if you have an AMEX card you still might need a password to purchase VIP presale tickets.

I e-mailed the VIP people at ticketmaster and here is what they told me:

Thanks for reaching out to us. The VIP package presale for Stevie Nicks should be a public presale. So, you should not need a password to buy VIP packages then.

It’s been my pleasure to assist you. Please let us know if you need anything else.

That doesn't make much sense to me because why bother having a VIP presale separate from the VIP general public date? Doesn't "presale" by definition mean that it pre-dates the on sale date? Gotta love it.

I am not sure about other venues, but the Toyota Center says this: "VIP Packages are exclusive to AMEX card holders beginning on Sept. 7. They will become available to the general public starting on Sept. 9 at 10am."

So it looks like VIP is AMEX only for the first 2 days.

I thunk they like to use the presales as a way to convey that tickets will be hard to get, so you'd better grab whatever you can during the "exclusive presale"! This is all a ploy, of course. There will be plenty of tickets.

Never mind my last post. Looking more closely for the Mohegan sun date, the VIP presale date and time is the same as the General Public VIP sale date and time, so definitely don't need a special password for the VIP tickets.

Wow... those prices are staggering considering how little you get as part of the VIP package. I daresay the "exclusive" gifts will consist of a VIP lanyard and a tote bag with a picture of Stevie. I guess they've gotten to the point where they just say, "Hey, the fans are paying for the seat - why bother with other niceties?"

I'm very disappointed. Looks like I won't be getting anywhere near the stage (yes, I'll still go. It's Stevie!)

It is very expensive for no meet and greet. I have a bad feeling that this tour may not be the big seller they hope. If it is heavy in 24K and IYD material casual fans wont want to pay big bucks and it seems not worth it for the VIP IMO.

Mind you the Eagles charged 1000 for front row tickets and besides the ticket you got a preshow reception with drinks and food but no meet and greet with any band member.

Cool

Funny you should mention the Eagles, if I remember right they are the ones that started this crap. Charging outrageous prices to see a reunited band that was never suppose to get back together. Come to think of it I did not go see them because of it. I believe it was the When Hell Freezes Over Tour and I remember saying I will pay that much for a ticket when hell freezes over.
Yea Yea Yea I could have went and seen them on the cheap. I could have sat in the nose bleeds and watched the big screens but if you are going to do that you might as well wait on the DVD and plug it in at home. A lot less idiots to deal with that way.
I am a stage hugger , always have been . For me that is where its at, in the first five rows. I miss the days when one could camp out at your local ticket outlet and pay the same price for front row as the folks sitting in the upper sections. Not only for the great tickets but for the experience. It was a lot of fun camping out with like minded people and meeting new friends.
I suppose it all comes down to the bottom line, how much is too much ? I can not honestly say I would never pay $1000 a ticket to go see a band but for me that would only be one band , Led Zeppelin with Jason Bonham on the drums. Would I pay more, I doubt it. Will it ever happen , probably not.
So how much is too much to see Stevie from the first five rows ? I am thinking $250 -$300 is what I would pay. IMO it would be worth it just to see the look on my wife's face. She has never experienced front row at a show in which she truly loved the performer . In fact I asked her what she would pay to sit front row to see her idol and she said 50 bucks, hahahaha. Like I stated above I would pay 5-$600 per ticket to see the whole band FM. In fact I think that was the going rate during the On With The Show tour, nick named ON with The Dough by some, lol, However I do not see paying that much to see Stevie on solo.
After doing some reading on this forum, because I have been out of the loop for the last year and a half, I am thinking all of us FM fans should skip this show. IMO Ms. Nicks should be in the studio finishing up the next FM album and getting ready to tour with them. Not out here doing some in your face tour trying to prove to the band that she can do it with out them. Charging the same prices and filling the same venues in half the time.
When I purchased our O.W.T.S tour tickets I remember waiting about six months to see the shows and the venues did not sell completely out. They were very close but I remember seats being available on day of show at the three we went to.
So how is Stevie going to fill these arenas in two months? Part of me hopes she does not and sees the light and goes running back to the band.

I'm thinking of paying the $500 just to avoid the stress. I'm having flashbacks of sitting in the last row of the highest bleacher seat on her 2012 tour and buying my ticket to the first OWTS date the day of.

However I'm worried if I buy the expensive seats that I'll be put in aisle 5 all the way in the corner. Do you actually get to pick your seat for these things?

Its expensive for what you get. Not all artists have meet and greets. I had the Lady Gaga package for the same price $500. The price included early entry, drinks, beer, food, and a huge VIP party inside hours before the doors opened (all included in the price). Each ticket holder also got 3 merchandise items....beach towel, Lady Gaga sunglasses, and a VIP Gaga ticket holder ......all this in addition to front row seated seats.
Ticketmaster is charging the same price $500 for just seats in row 5 with maybe a T shirt included. At least the Mac VIP included a meet and greet.

These are large arenas. The tour is coming to an arena in Sunrise, FL. In 2013 the successful Mac tour cancelled this gig and also Toronto because of poor ticket sales.

An intimate setting promoting 24K Gold featuring only Stevie and her material would be so much better for fans to hear the music. But the promoters obviously got control. At least its better than the horrible Heart and Soul tour with Rod Stewart. Stevie was an opening act. Rod Stewart would never join her on stage during her set. She had to join him on his stage to sing back up. That was the worst tour ever. I always felt Stevie must have been humiliated to be an opening act and treated that way.
Stevie does the shortest set lists ever. I bet the Pretenders are forced to shorten their set list because of Stevie. Most bands do at least 15-20 songs per concert. Stevie does around 11 or 12. When Stevie opened for Rod, it was the perfect fit because she was the opener.

no one is being forced or has to buy a ticket , i can speak from experience i did not die because i did not go to any of the Fleetwood Mac reunion shows and a few of Stevie's hit tours .

Empty seats Speak Volumes
