IMO this goes down with the stupidity of their 1998-2003 lull. They were HUGE again with The Dance and then they just faded away for a few years. I'll never understand why Lindsey and Stevie didn't capitalize on The Dance and re-release BN in 1998 for its 25th anniversary once Chris left and toured as BN. With Christine back though...wow, that was basically the one thing that could generate interest in the band again after a decade of same-old tours. And they HAD the momentum..again! And then boom, no new music, no new plans...just another potential world tour with the same set, same lame stories, and rougher voices.

The four who are interested should finish recording and release the damn album. Stevie's presence isn't exactly going to have them selling millions, so just make the thing and get on with it.

These people are legitimately way too old to be wasting time. Either disband or do SOMETHING.
Perfectly stated. When I read Mick's comments in the RS article today, I was BEYOND FRUSTRATED. What gives? What is this, Whack-A-Mole? One ESSENTIAL member spends YEARS in a SELF IMPOSED EXILE walking dogs and gardening; as soon as enough begging convinces HER to rise from the grave, the HIGH PRIESTESS decides to pull this "Mabel Normand" crap and run off with the mad hatter (Run for your life, Alice, SERIOUSLY?). Then, once we convince these two princesses to get their act together, the "tortured creative genius" develops a sudden case of AGORAPHOBIA, pulls a Great Garbo, and wants to spend time alone recording banging sounds on a bathroom floor. I've invested nearly 40 years consuming this band's product, merchandise, and live performances. Girl, I'm the one who needs a little sympathy! This band actually has a chance to go out in style by creating a great piece of art together in the twilight of their career. Instead, they'd rather behave like spoiled brats. I'm seriously about to toss my platform boots into the bonfire and walk away. Ugh, somebody give me a Xanax!

Unhappy

Will Lindsey really agree to do another massive tour without some sort of new project. I have to admit, I will be disappointed if he goes along with it. The greatest hits tour has been ongoing since 09.

As much as I hate to see things end poorly between them all, it seems like a matter of time before somebody in the band calls BS on the entire thing.

When Christine came back, they should of mapped out a plan and signed on the line. They gave Chris an ultimatum, they should practice what they preach.

I'd rather Stevie just pass on another tour because we all know 6 months into it she will crap all over it as one big hindrance to her own agenda. I'm sure her casino shows will really add to her legacy....lol...

As much as I loved the shows I went to last year, it all seems very sad now.

I can't help but think of Mick's infamous playboy interview from a few years back. Maybe he should of just walked away and moved on. Call it a day.

Now I get why Robert Plant refused to do a full Zep reunion tour, crap like this is a prime example.

This band has turned into a whole lot of foreplay and zero follow through.

No surprise here at all.Guess the people who believed that FM were"secretly working on a new album" this year and the rest of us were pessimists will have to eat crow. I have been saying that the album is shelved and this confirms it..put me in the camp of folks who refuse to attend any more cash grab oldies tours with zero new music.

This is what happened with Lindsey after Tango In The Night was completed and he refused to tour. We see how that turned out.

The "Rumours Five" started with Buckingham-Nicks duet joining the fray. Perhaps it was meant to end with a Buckingham-McVie duet. Stevie may regret that one day, but it seems that "regret" or lost opportunity (what could have been) is as much of the FM legacy as the music with this "band."

Is any of this new with this band? I still would bet my life that there will be a new Fleetwood Mac record WITH Stevie. I see this interview as Mick's way to nudge Stevie along. I cant believe she and Lindsey would commit to a 2 year tour but not spend time to finish and record an album? That makes no sense. Mick hints that there will be a huge tour with Stevie but maybe no album with Stevie.
I am sure Stevie and Lindsey are fighting again. However, I cant see the band doing an album without Stevie and then she joining them on a 2 year world tour to promote it. THAT WONT HAPPEN. I see Lindsey definitely pushing for the project. This is Stevie's SAY YOU WILL moment. Maybe if Christine calls her up and sings SAY YOU WILL to her it might get Stevie to join in the album.
None of this is new with the band and they have ALWAYS come back together.
Mark my word....there WILL be a new album WITH Stevie. 100% gurantee

I get so sick and tired of you delusional fans! Do a record without Stevie? Is this a fuc*ing joke. No Mac record will b done without her plain and simple. She said they would record, I take her word. Not Mick all I want is money Fleetwood. Unfortunately the rest haven't really had successful solo careers except Nicks, can't blame her for wanting to do other things. I don't blame her for not wanting to b on the road and doing 100 shows, honestly I don't know how any of them do it. That's y I don't come here often, your supposed to b fans but most of you just bitch and I can't stand it. Be happy there alive and still performing well! Not enough love in this world. Have a great fuc*ing day.

At least the Buckingham/McVie relationship isn't a fake soap opera.

You know what- screw these greedy ridiculously wealthy old geezers. I will always love the music, always love dancing around the living room in my shawl, but what they have become is just pathetic. Over them.

Isn't this kind of Mick's M.O. though? Stevie drags her feet, Mick/others get frustrated, Mick goes to the press to air his grievances/dirty laundry, Stevie comes around eventually.

Not saying that it will work this time, but remember Mick's "I'm so sad because my band is dead and it's all because of Stevie" interview with Playboy (I think)? A few months later, she came around and the EP/tour was announced.

I have to say, I had this very same thought. Like the PB interview.

The problem with this is that 'eventually' isn't good enough at the ages they've reached, and with John's health not being as good as it used to be.
