I agree, the album has been shelved. Probably wasn't as good as they had hoped, Stevie didn't want to do it etc... They would have been working on it by now. Mick said Christine keeps calling up asking when they are going BACK ON THE ROAD. Please stop pretending they aren't an oldies act now. Never seeing them again without new music.

Guys, the album is most likely done and they're just not talking about it. Christine said a few months ago it would be done in May and they said themselves they were doing a new tour. They're telling you exactly what's happening and some people on this board are still saying the album and tour aren't going to happen...

They aren't going to be secretive about working on the album. If it were done we'd know. |

Who knows? Maybe the MIRAGE reissue was pushed back to piggyback with the new album? Big releases put out on the spur of the moment are kind of the big thing right now....I could certainly see FM following in these footsteps, especially since it will (more than likely!) be with a new label!

The release date for Mirage has nothing to do with a possible new album. It just isn't that unusual for albums to be postponed a few weeks. If anything, they would stagger the two albums further apart from each other, not the opposite.

Would I like to hear a new album? Would it stand up against what they have already recorded? Who knows with this band...I used to be a big flag waver for this band, but the lack of new studio material has killed those days. "According to the New York Times, Nielsen said that Anti sold fewer than 1,000 copies in what was a very short first chart week, although a source with access to the sales data said its total sales were a minuscule 460. " https://www.theguardian.com/music/20...anti-low-sales

Did you expect them to say "well we were just in the studio and it kinda sucked, come see us on the tour!" Of course they are going to say it's good, especially when a big tour is coming up. Or they THOUGHT it was good and upon looking back they realized maybe not. BTW I liked the EP but many people on this board didn't. Before it's release they went on and on about how good it was.

A week or two maybe, but two full months? No, that is NOT common!

This is not true at all. Especially in this day and age. Do you know how even more prominent big name "surprise releases" and things of that nature are going to be? It's how the industry is right now. If there's BIG news you're not gonna know until the minute you are supposed to.

Plus - if they are planning a new record - a re-release would be some good early promo to get the band back on everyone's minds ![]() Last edited by pauls90; 07-06-2016 at 12:04 PM.. |
