Default Things you use almost daily

Here are some things I use habitually:

1. Smoke cigarettes (I know, I know).

2. Use an ink pen

3. Apply sunscreen (I burn easily).

Do you use olive oil in cooking or is it apart of your skin care routine? Or both?

Olive oil is excellent for both and also for haircare. It's an efficient make-up remover (although I have to say coconut oil is the best) and one of my favourite pre-washing hair masks.

That's what I've heard. I'll have to give it a try.

For your food, your skin or your hair? Or all three of them?

Good choice(s).
A few tips:

1) If you use it as a make-up remover remember to use a cleanser after it, especially if you have a combination/oily skin

2) If you use it for your hair you have three possibilities:
- To restore your hair (meaning to reinforce the natural sebum barrier and smooth the cuticles) you have to use it on dry hair, it will lock the hydration inside your hair and integrate the sebum on its surface. However you can't do it always because obviously if you always "lock" your hair without ever hydrating it will eventually become dry.
- To hydrate and nourish your hair you have to use it when you hair is wet. In both this and the previous case the mask will protect your hair from the washing, leaving a remainder of moisture after the use of the soap, so if your hair isn't particularly dry or frizzy you could even not have to use any conditioner.
- To moisturize particularly dry ends and/or protect them from brushing and straightening you put a few drops only on the damp hair tips.

If you still couldn't tell I'm a prominent member of a forum specialized in ecobiological hair care.

For cooking; and my dog gets it drizzled on his food, too. Though....he prefers coconut oil, so I switch it up from day to day for him.

Fortunately, I am blessed with great skin (it must be from my grandmother), so I use nothing but water and my hands - and sunscreen from time to time. Though, honestly, I am sure diet and exercise have as much to do with skin as anything else. I'd bet the olive oil I eat and the drenching sweat of yardwork and gardening in the Colorado sun is a huge factor in having clear skin.

I'm somewhat of an oil fanatic when it come to cooking. Right now, I have organic canola, walnut, avocado, organic coconut, Tunisian and Greek olive, and peanut oil in my cabinet. I use canola, avocado and olive oil for most general cooking, coconut for pancakes, walnut for baking, peanut for stir fries. I was obsessed with grape seed oil for a while, but I don't care much for the taste.

There is one of those specialty olive oil stores down the street that sells blended olive oils categorized by flavor - grassy, peppery, buttery, nutty. The grassy olive oils are my favorite for vinaigrettes.

Wow that's a good variety of different oils, they sound great I stick to raw coconut oil and organic olive oil. We don't have the amazing choice of olive oils here unfortunately. If I had more spare time to try recipes I'd love to try some other kinds of oils.

My 3 things would be

1) Kombucha first thing in the morning. I tried making my own but failed miserably, so I buy it from a great local Kombucha company called Lewtress. This stuff helped me to give up caffeine.

2) Home made nut milk. I invested in a high speed blender and make mostly cashew milk.

3)Quinoa. I think it's amazing, it healed my stomach and blood sugar problems.

I have to agree with this! It's become so expensive, too, but is such a great substitute for rice, and cooks in the rice cooker quite easily.

I love a particular quinoa salad that Whole Foods sometimes has in their deli - we make it at home - with tomatoes, black beans, onions and cilantro, and sometimes use it a stuffing for stuffed bell peppers, in place of the more traditional rice and meat mixture.

Amazing stuff, though, for sure.

It is. I became so limited in what I could eat and this became my staple food. It's a perfect protein combined with other vegetarian protein foods like lentils and tofu. It has become really expensive, but lately seems to have come down in price here. I buy it in bulk with a wholefoods order so its affordable, and well worth it. I get the quick cooking white version and the nutty red one too

For anyone who is sensitive to too much grain and needs vegetarian protein its great.
