Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi And Sheryl Crow And Other Top Musicians Record 'Love Song To The Earth'

A powerhouse for our environment -- various artists express their care for the earth through a song.

Jon Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney and 14 other artists recorded "Love Song to the Earth" as their way of expressing the urgency of protecting our environment and in supporting the U.N.'s efforts for a universal climate agreement. The song was released on iTunes and Apple Music on September 4.

The song is expected to have a wider release on September 11, showcasing a lyric video featuring cameos by keyboardist Chuck Leavell of Allman Brothers Band, Rolling Stones, comedian Lewis Black and UN Messenger of Peace Jane Goodall. This video is produced and co-directed by the project's executive director Jerry Cope, in collaboration with award- winning cinematographer Louie Schwartzberg.

"Love Song to the Earth" is also produced by Beyonce, Stevie Nicks, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend and written by John Shanks, Sean Paul, Natasha Bedingfield and Toby Gad.

In a release announcing the star-studded track, Gad expressed his hopes by saying, "I hope this song will broaden the audience for this urgent message and give the politicians emotional support for meaningful climate agreement in Paris." He is referring to the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference this December.

Meanwhile, Bedingfield, one of the songwriters, expressed that the song was also meant to uplift others regarding this matter.

"We wanted to write a song that is about how when you love something, you look after it. With this song we wanted to talk about the environment in a way that would help people feel empowered to do something rather than be paralyzed by fear," he said.''

Bedingfield also added that people see that everything is "OK environmentally" and that people are also "turning a blind eye" regarding this issue.

Other artists who took part are Colbie Caillat, Leona Lewis, Johnny Rzeznik, Fergie, Angelique Kidjo, Kelsea Ballerini, Nicole Scherzinger, Victoria Justic,e Christina Grimmie and Q'Orianka Kilcher.

All proceeds of the "Love Song to the Earth" will go to the United Nations Foundation and Friends of the Earth U.S.

She doesn't have a part. I just listened to it and am so disappointed.

Yeah no sign of Stevie on the track at all. Apparently she co-produced it.

Well at least I'll be able to sleep tonight knowing that the
U.N. and Friends Of The Earth are looking out for us.

does a song REALLY need FOUR producers?
who probably couldn't agree on anything if you paid them ... ?

It's a shame. I like the song but you would know they wouldn't want her voice on it.
