I'm with you, chiliD, but I have a feeling that it's not his decision. I mean, if things were up to him, apparently we'd have a behind the scenes documentary and a somewhat varied setlist. Sigh.

As much as I'd rather have the Mac together than apart, all of this makes me hope for a solo Lindsey tour someday.

Also, while Stevie was on the stage and they were taking abreak while Ray was folling with LB's guitar, Stevie and LB were having a conversation. People were cheering, etc. I yelled, "speak into the mic.!!!!!" I do not know if they heard me - probebaly not, but they smiled after I yelled it. They seemed to enjoy that people were wondering what they were saying.

Also, I could swear LB smiled at me when I was singing along with him on Murrow - sort of like "Oh you know the words!!!!!" But, he probably was smiling in my general direction.

Stevie is always noticeably nervous when she makes a TV appearance ("If I sound like I'm shaking from the bottom of my toes... I am"), so that anxiety is most likely the culprit behind the "chill" people felt.

Not that I have first-hand experience in live performances, but I've been told, and have read, that it's often easier to perform in front of thousands of people, than it is for a couple hundred.
So it makes perfect sense that Stevie would come out and focus on looking at Lindsey, and singing the songs (which would be within her safety zone), rather than interacting too much with the audience (where her nervousness comes from).

Trust me, I know all about anxiety!

I think it's just that most people find it hard to believe that anyone who's been doin' this as long as Stevie and Lindsey wouldn't be nervous in front of folks.

Anxiety, yeah, I had it last night watching the Cowboys and Giants game. WOW, that game was INTENSE!!

I forget who it is now... Bette Midler, maybe?... who apparently still vomits right before every single performance, after decades in the business.

And Carly Simon's stage-fright is legendary.

One would think it would get easier over time, but apparently it doesn't always.

I put the whole respect thing in there so I wouldn't get roasted by the Lindsey fans. I too would have liked to see Stevie do a little more. A few of her own songs, maybe some B/N stuff, harmonies on Peacekeeper, SYHA, GYOW. I feel that she was underused.

Stevie herself has said that Lindsey doesn't get the respect that he deserves. I was IMHO giving a reason why she looked so disinterested or bored.

I just don't want to open that Stevie vs Lindsey can of worms.

Sure, them doing Frozen Love, Races Are Run or Twisted even would've kicked BOOT-AY, but ah well.

I give ANYONE credit for getting up in front of people to do ANYTHING. I took speech class in college and we videotaped our speeches to watch ourselves...talk about embarrassing.

You don't notice the "tics" you do until you watch that tape (of shame) back.

Lindsey said a few times that since they are on tour they really did not have any time to rehearse this show.

I think the fact that he did RR, Murrow, Down on Rodeo, Trouble...basically any song that is NOT being played at the shows was somewhat daring. He probably hasn't thought about these songs too much since going on tour.

Then when he told the guys "Ok, let's just play it" before starting Save Me a Place, I thought man this guy has a great memory/talent...when was the last time he played that sucker?? However, asking him and Stevie to pull out BN tunes would probably be too much to ask...unless of course they made the decision ahead of time to play them and had at least some time to rehearse. I believe Stevie when she said "that's all I remember."

Can't be Bette, she feeds off the audience like it's her drug. Anyone who dreams of putting on a show, or someone who already does shows, should take a cue from her: pure dynamic onstage.

I still say that she is the best live performer in history. Absolutely phenomenal, Johnny!
