Hell yes.

As for the rest of you buying record players, I hope you know what you're doing...If not, you may be terribly disappointed with the sound quality. For the best sound, you need a stereo receiver and a turntable with a pre-amp unless you also buy an amp, and speakers. Gosh, don't forget speakers. I just say this because so few people have actual stereo receivers with components anymore, and hooking a record player via USB to your computer is not going to give you great results.

We know how quickly Stevie has worked to get this done so FM could tour this fall but how much was this project altered because of FM?
Was this going to be a box set comprised of 4 albums? The 2 24K albums we are now getting plus a 3rd that had the original demos on it and a 4th that had demos we have never heard...
If Stevie had not been rushed would the outcome had been any different?
Doubtful it would be any different. Box-set-four CDs? Wishful thinking, but maybe a little too ambitious. Many of her demos are rough, stalled works in progress; a lot of work would have to be done to bring them up to par, especially to fill a box set.

Now that "Camp Stevie" is tweeting maybe Dave will step up his game and try to out do them...We all know how much he likes the spotlight...

Stevie Nicks to release double album of songs from her past

The music on 24 Karat Gold – Songs from the Vault represents 'the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken-hearted and the survivors', Nicks says

Stevie Nicks has announced details of a new solo album comprised of songs written almost half a century ago. 24 Karat Gold – Songs from the Vault was inspired by Nicks' dozens of unreleased bootlegs, from which she recently rerecorded a selection of songs in Nashville.

"These songs are the memories – the 24-carat gold rings in the blue box," Nicks said. "Each song has a soul … They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken-hearted and the survivors."

Beloved as these songs may be to her, it appears Nicks lost track of them: the singer used YouTube to uncover unfinished material that was being traded by fans. "[They're] songs that, somehow, were taken from my house or picked up or loaned out or whatever," she told the Associated Press in May. Working with co-producers Waddy Wachtel and Dave Stewart, she laid down 18 old tracks in three quick weeks – the "fastest I have ever recorded".

Most of 24 Karat Gold was written between 1969 and 1987, with two more tunes from the mid-1990s. In keeping with the nostalgic theme, the album's artwork will be peppered with candid Polaroids of Nicks throughout her career. A deluxe version of the album includes 48 pages of pictures from the 66-year-old's private collection.

Although Nicks' new full-length is her first studio album since 2011, it seems to have been an obstacle to her work with Fleetwood Mac. Earlier this year, the group revealed that Nicks was absent from their own initial recording sessions. "There are parts for Stevie to sing on all of these songs, which she will do eventually," Christine McVie said. After a 19-year hiatus, McVie returned to Fleetwood Mac in January; they are staging a reunion tour this autumn, with an album expected next year.

24 Karat Gold will be released as a double vinyl LP on 29 September, with the regular version following on Warner Bros on 7 October.

I must of missed the small print on the earlier posts about a a doubly album.YIPPY

I agree with KarmaContestant about the current crop of turntables. They are not as good as the old ones are.The best bet is head to your local fleamarkets, tag sales or Craigs list and find a dusty old one that works. With my experiences with the Rat Shack. I doubt that your local Rat Shack {Radio Shack} will have a replacement needle or the help dont know what your are taking about.

Just do a Google search for a needle and you able to find it.

I assume the answer is no, but I'll still ask: has anyone received an e-mail from Stevie or Warners announcing the album, instagram account, etc.?

I just checked and her WB site http://t.co/HHctEru7TQ has yet to be updated...I would imagine as the pre-order date nears something will be sent out...Stevie's twitter now has 45,400 followers while the postless Instagram already has 12,500 followers...As for announcements if I remember the limited edition "IYD" DVD showed up on FB first...

I've always had a turntable as part of my stereo...The problem is if you buy a new receiver most don't have a "Phono" input anymore and I found this out a few years ago when I bought my Harmon Kardon...The solution was to leave the turntable hooked up to the old receiver which is plugged into an aux input on the Harmon.
I have to agree that if you are buying a turntable don't buy one of those dreadful USB models...
If you want to transfer you records to digital you can buy one of those little adapter boxes that will allow you to hook your stereo up to your computer usually they come with the software for recording on your computer...

Video Director and frequent Dave Stewart collaborator, Paul Boyd, just posted on his Facebook page...

"STEVIE NICKS video shoot coming up on Monday.. but first a sunny weekend chillaxin.."

Great news. I was hoping that some videos would be filmed. They've obviously chosen a first single. Yay!

Hey Louie, I'm planning on buying a record player in the next month or so. Any recommended places to buy one here in Austin? Based on another one of you're posts, you really seem to like yours. Do you know where your partner got it? By the way...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
