You saw it here first...Stevie Nicks actually tweeted about something before Dave Stewart did...I hope this is a trend that continues...

Ordered my record player and little table for it last might on Amazon. I got an antique looking record player that's encased in wood (40's style). I spent $119 on it- not bad. Table was $99 and has a cabinet to keep records in.

I'll be ready!

From AXS
Rock on, gold dust woman: Stevie Nicks’ new album drops Oct. 7

Is anyone really surprised to learn that the high priestess of rock – a prolific and intuitive songwriter – has a secret stash of unreleased tunes that she’s compiled over the last five decades? Didn’t think so. With the July 24 announcement that her new album 24 Karat Gold – Songs From the Vault will be released on Oct. 7, Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks simply confirmed what millions of giddy fans already suspected – that thankfully the legendary artist is a “musical hoarder.”

Co-produced with Dave Stewart and her longtime guitarist, Waddy Wachtel, Nicks’ first album since 2011’s In Your Dreams features songs that she penned between ’69 and ’87 – much of it during the Mac’s heyday – as well as one from ‘94 and another from ‘95. With such a matchless creative legacy at the heart of the new record, 24 Karat Gold is sure to become Nicks’ sixth solo album to reach the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart, following the critically acclaimed In Your Dreams debut at No. 6.

In a statement, Nicks described the new album as only an affecting tunesmith could. “Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a story. They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories – the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box.” In addition to the new “old music,” the record will include “never-before-seen Polaroid photos taken by Nicks throughout her career” as well as photographs “from Nicks' personal photo collection.”

The celebrated rock goddess couldn’t have chosen a better name for the new effort, as everything “Queen Midas” touches seems to turn to gold – or platinum as the case may be. How she managed to record the new album in 2013 while touring with Fleetwood Mac on their 34-city Rumours 35th Anniversary Tour is a “mystery to me.” But the diminutive songstress – and expert in time management – has no doubt produced one for the ages.

The new album’s Oct. 7 release may present a few challenges for Nicks this time around as well, as Fleetwood Mac's On With the Show Tour – the band’s first with Christine McVie in over a decade – kicks off on Sep. 30 in Minneapolis and wraps up on Dec. 20 in Tampa. That means that fans of Nicks’ solo work will have to wait patiently for the tour in support of the new release. Of course, the iconic band will hopefully include a tune or two from the record as part of their setlist.

Fans can pre-order a limited edition double LP of 24 Karat Gold beginning Sep. 29 or wait until Aug. 5 to pre-order the CD. Nicks will begin previewing the album on her official Instagram account on Aug. 5 as well

I didn't say never, but it is highly, highly unlikely. Number one, Stevie herself is reticent to do any "lesser" known songs in an FM set. She has had years of solo tours where she didn't do "old" lesser known songs in her OWN set list. We have all complained of this. She always says (thinks) FM fans come to see them (her) play the hits. She is right. Diehards like us disagree but we are not the majority. At this years ticket prices, I doubt she is going to mess with the formula. Second, Lindsey made a set-list for the tour months ago. It's not set in stone but I seriously doubt he put in any new Stevie songs. But you can count on Big Love and I'm So Afraid. Those aren't moving.

I promise you, Stevie does not want to play her new material that she is excited about with FM. She wants to play those songs with Waddy, Dave...her band, her way. Lindsey has no interest in promoting her solo record on the FM tour. Remember he hasn't even wanted to do a BN set when Christine wasn't touring with them. He believes a FM tour is FM only.

I think this release could possibly sell as much as Enchanted. Every fan who has collected the demos over the year must be curious how the songs ultimately turn out.

So exciting, right? My partner must have been prophetic- he bought me a record player for my birthday 3 weeks ago. What an exciting way to hear a new Stevie album for the first time... ON VINYL!!

Finally some common sense on this subject. If ANY new songs are to be performed on this Mac tour, they would be culled from the tracks Lindsey & Christine cut for the new FLEETWOOD MAC album. Fleetwood Mac needs to build excitment for the new Mac album, NOT solo albums.

Between adding Christine's classic songs back into the setlist, and peppering in one or two lesser known album tracks (a hallmark of 21st century Mac tours), there won't be any room for Stevie's 24k Gold songs anyway. Nor would I want solo songs there. This tour is about the return of Christine & the classic Fleetwood Mac lineup, which has been dormant for nearly 2 decades.

I realize I'm dreaming big here, but what I'd love to see happen is for Stevie to do a small theater show in NY and showcase all the new songs... like she did at the Wiltern when In Your Dreams was released. That's where those songs deserve to be heard. With Waddy & Dave supporting her and Stevie's fans in attendance in an intimate setting. Not by those who just came to get drunk & pay $400 to hear Go Your Own Way.

If you remember Stevie was due to play Webster Hall in NYC on 5/4 2011(Webster Hall Thread) the day after "IYD" dropped on 5/3/2011 but all of her IYD release appearances were cancelled due to illness...Remember the Ledgies that were quite upset as they had traveled cross country for the Webster show?...The Wiltern show was a bit of a make up date of sorts for the Webster Hall date...So it's quite possible and probable that she will play a solo NYC date when the album drops maybe even have an album signing at a local record store...
Yes Stevie will use the FM tour to promote the hell out of "24K" and I wouldn't be surprised if the interviews she does while on tour with FM focus more on 24K than FM but what else is she supposed to do?
I guess she could wait until after the 2015 FM tour and use the upcoming 3 year break FM will have to tour "24K" but by then it will be almost 2 years old...

I remember the Webster Hall incident quite well. That's why I suggested Stevie should do a small NYC theater solo show. Plus, Fleetwood Mac will be performing in NYC on October 7th &8th- the same time 24k drops. Then Stevie has 2 days off before the next Mac show, so she could absolutely spend one of those nights doing a small solo show in NYC.

And I'm totally fine with Stevie talking about 24k during FM press interviews. I just feel strongly that FM shows, this tour in particular, should focus on the band itself vs solo projects.

Unfortunately, I think it's highly unlikely that Stevie will put on a solo show while touring with Fleetwood Mac. She's going to be way too busy to rehearse the new songs (while rehearsing for the Mac) and get a full show together. I just don't see this as a possibility. She may, however, do a talk show performance here or there (Letterman, Fallon, Today Show). And I bet she'll do lots of interviews. A CD signing in NYC and Boston is a great idea, too. But I don't see a solo show in the cards or any new solo songs being added to Fleetwood Mac's setlist. It would become too much about Stevie and I don't think she, or certain other band members, would want that.

My guess is that after the tour & the holidays, Fleetwood Mac will take a break for a month or two before going into the studio to record and finish the new album. I think Stevie will use that to her advantage to do a short US tour to properly promote "24 Karat Gold". After Fleetwood finishes recording the new record, and before its release date, I think Stevie will do a second leg. She's gonna be a busy gal for the rest of this year and all of next year. Just my speculation.
