Where did Stevie say that they were recording a song that had been performed live before?

That said, I do not like the 'fan art' or 'fan design' concept *at all*.

When "Stevie Nicks" and "fan design" are mentioned together, I imagine those hideous artistic renderings of Stevie with unicorns and curls and doe-eyes and wolves and moons...yeah, I hate that crap. Yes, I am talking about that Johanna and every other piece of Stevie Nicks fan art ever made. Hate it.
I seem to recall a scary drawing of a group of women wearing Cloaks and holding Daggers with blood dripping from them. For some reason, at least in my mind I also recall them being vampires, and having corsetts and boustiers. Anyone remember that being posted here on the ledge? It would have been late 90s or early 2000's. It was downright creepy.

I remember that fan named Wild Phil who had a web site of a bunch of stevie drawings in the nude....some of the pics were pretty good and quite honestly some were pretty funny.... When I posted a link to his fan art here on the ledge a decade ago some people were really ticked off at me for posting the link....if you go back and search my posts here on the ledge from a decade ago you will find the link.....as you can see I don't post much so it is not hard to find the thread...DISCLAIMER: I am not stirring the pot a decade later, but the topic of fan art came up, and quite frankly, in my opinion, this guys fan art is pretty good, so I just wanted to voice my opinion.

Edit: the link in the old thread doesn't work you would have to search the "internet archive search using the "way back" site" and enter the guys website address and choose February 2002 to see his artwork.....lovely how nothing ever is erased from the internet- ever.

I just got a scary thought: they decide to put one of Stevie's drawings on the cover. Ugh. They're OK but not for an album cover. I will be seriously bummed out if this album cover doesn't feature a new, beautiful pic of Stevie. And no horse!!

Has anyone given consideration that if they actually go forward with the idea of receiving album art submissions, many of them will be from talented, professional artists and graphic designers, as well as amateurs with a high level of creativity?

To adamantly dismiss the idea makes no sense to me. Just because you may fear that hundreds of people you don't know are incapable of coming up with a worthy design doesn't mean there aren't hundreds of people who are. It's an exciting, inspiring prospect; one that could produce something even better than the, par-for-course, usual standard.

i think they should have a contest
best submission idea/concept wins
winner gets to photograph Stevie for the album cover/back cover/insert whatever

fanart is tacky
some people, however, are insanely talented
there needs to be rules.
i agree with the no unicorns, moons, fantasy artwork as was slammed in previous post. but Stevie is much more than that.

Second that! Worse yet, they might decide to use one of Stevie's drawings of a horse.

Kill me now.

Certainly, some of the submissions I saw for the FM t-shirt contest were significantly better than the t-shirt designs FM actually sold on tour.

That's is so true. The merchandise sold at the shows is disappointingly thoughtless, with a creativity level at the bottom of the barrel. I stayed away from all that crap. And the prices they were charging were are nearly criminal. The one thing I bought on their last tour was the Penguin logo Poster. I love it, and I had it framed.

Word! Everything's finished. Now we just sit and patiently wait for a release date, track list and first single while they put together the album artwork and press the freakin' thing!

Still hoping that they're serious about the "vinyl" pressing and it's not merely just a wishful idea or request on Dave's part.

I think it will definitely be released on vinyl...Records are hot again and I'm noticing more and more new releases coming out on vinyl.

This is really great news! They really got this thing done in a very short amount of time. I guess we ultimately have Fleetwood Mac to thank for this! If it wasn't for the looming tour and new record, Stevie could have taken years to get this done. I'm so excited for this!!

Dave mentions photos have been chosen so I wonder if that means no fan participation? Perhaps timing was an issue?
