Default The Ledges track listing for Stevie's new album....

Ok here are the results to my poll. But first forget my poll Like sorcerer999 pointed out in the other thread, and the best part of the thread I created is realizing how many freaking unreleased songs stevie has. 47 freaking songs were mentioned and that doesn't even include the 1 song confirmed to be recorded. Star shine received no votes. So that makes at least 48 unreleased songs we collectively know of. And I, who thought I knew 90 percent of them already was unaware of half. You like me may have topped my list if I knew it existed a few weeks ago. Anyway if this message board was to pick the 18 songs on this album they would be:

1. All the Beautiful Worlds- 61
2. Julia- 47
3. Forsaken Love- 44
4. Forest of the Black Roses- 41
5. The Dealer- 41
6. She loves him Still- 35
7. Baby Doll- 27
8. Joan of Arc- 26
9. Blue Water- 25
10. Have no Heart- 23
11. If you were my love- 22
12. 3 Birds of Rhiannon- 21
13. Watchdevil- 21
14. At the Fair- 20
15. Sanctuary - 19
16. All the kings horses- 17
17. China Doll- 16
18. 24 karot Gold- 15

2 more lists came in after June 1st, maybe a few differences would occur but oh we'll m not dong more math. So all the songs are kind of lumped together and I'm sure we all have different favorites from 6 or 7 to 50, and while none of us put starshine on a list I'm sure many of us had it just missing top 10.

The point of that is there are then 5 maybe 6 songs hat got sort of a mandate to be included. Julia. Forsaken love FOTBR she loves him still the dealer and pulling most from the pack was all the beautiful worlds.

Oddly my number one just missed our list with 14 points. Hopefully stevie feels different.

I didn't include the other 30 songs. There's a master list in the other thread.

Thank you for doing this, Hawkeye! It's a very eclectic and interesting list!

Can't wait to see the actual track list to she which songs she picked versus our favorites!

If anyone is looking for a list of unreleased Stevie material that you can reference, here ya go. There are 60 (by my count) circulating-but-unreleased song titles listed here:

Thanks for the link...I actually created a more complete list back in 2005 than the one on that page, but I can not find the Word file of it on my computer....I only have the hard paper copy sitting here on my bookcase. And it is about 35 pages long (size 11 font) ....I don't have time to retype it all ... I am almost totally computer illiterate but is it possible for me to scan it as a PDF then pull the text off the PDF and paste it into word? If anyone wants a longer more detailed list let me know what I need to do and I would be happy to share it.....

It is possible, but the scan will have to be very clear, and even then, Word will not do the conversion for you. You'll need AdobePro or PDF Converter Pro or a similar program. There might be free software on line to convert PDF to Word.

Thanks...I appreciate the info....if anyone actually wants the list I will attempt to scan and use an online converter...otherwise it can just sit here on my bookshelf for another decade. Lol

Well, we know "She Loves Him Still" won't be on it, unless she completely starts with new music and a new melody. Mark Knopfler still won't let her use his instrumental track.

What's the story behind this? I've heard this before, but the details are unknown to me. It seems to me she could just give him credit and call it a day. Singers and musicians cover material all the time - I don't understand the requirement for permission, as long as the instrumental track wasn't actually the one recorded by Mark.

Edit: nevermind!

Anyway, Stevie heard the soundtrack, loved it, and fell for this one song in particular. She added lyrics to it, hoping they might do it as a duet. Stevie passed it on to Mark's people.....and basically got a cease and desist!
This story came straight from Paul Fishkin's lips, so I have no reason to doubt it. If I remember correctly, I think Stevie may have also alluded to it in one of her interviews with Jim Ladd.
