Default Ooh My Love

I always thought Ooh My Love was about Lindsey

Remember in CAH's book Carol said Lindsey always called her angel

A Line From Ooh My Love: Oh, but there was a time when he called her "Angel"

Goodbye Angel (Lindsey Outtake 1982) Could be related

I guess this is because of Lindsey leaving FM, Stevie was upset

Yes, the "chamber" where they spent all of their time together, reminds me of the way Stevie has described the coffee plant. It was scary and empty at night and they locked themselves in.

In the newly circulating "Street Angel Tour rehearsals" tapes, Stevie mentions that "this is another songs about Don" before launching into "Ooh My Love." So I'd assume it was about Don Henley.

Oh wow please post. I found one of "Ooh My Love" on you tube and it sounds great. I thought the rehearsal's with Sharon singing "Long Way To Go" was fantastic. I can't wait to hear Stevie actually singing it AND "Freedom"???? Hurry

The live version was actually very faithful. A shame she has not dusted it off in the intervening years.

The Street Angel rehearsals were generously shared by Mike Bise who runs this Ivory Keys Blogspot which pretty much has ALL demos/outtakes/live recordings of Stevie. If you have any questions on her music he's the man to ask. Here's where the Street Angel Rehearsals are

Stevie Nicks - Live 06/1994
Street Angel Tour Acoustic Rehearsals, Phoenix, AZ, Soundboard Recording
Songs: Destiny, Docklands, Dreams, Rooms On Fire, Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind, Gold Dust Woman, Blue Denim, Freedom, Stand Back, Talk To Me, Two Kinds Of Love

Stevie Nicks - Live 06/29/1994
Street Angel Tour Rehearsals, Los Angeles, CA Soundboard Recording
Songs: Talk To Me, Destiny, Long Way To Go, Docklands, Gold Dust Woman, Rooms On Fire, Rhiannon

Stevie Nicks - Live 07/07/1994
Street Angel Tour Final Rehearsal, Los Angeles, CA, Soundboard Recording
Songs: Rhiannon, Dreams, Docklands, Rooms On Fire, No Spoken Word, Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind, Ooh My Love, Gold Dust Woman, Stand Back, Destiny, Talk To Me, How Still My Love, Blue Denim, Edge Of Seventeen

How interesting it is to find out that Stevie was considering adding to her set never performed deep tracks from a prior album while embarking on a tour to promote a new album! Her choices and logic never cease to baffle reason.

Still, both songs, Long Way to Go and Ooh My Love, should have had a life on stage. Joining public opinion, I think Ooh My Love sounded great, and would have offered a different flavor to her show.

That's because she didn't like Street Angel and was tired of it before it even came out.

Speaking of Ooh My Love, I was wondering if anyone else noticed how honest and open Stevie was on the Other Side of the Mirror CD, and specifically on this song. This song was the first time I'd ever heard her change from 3rd person to 1st person. She sings "yes, it was a strain on her, watching her castles fall down..." twice before changing it to "yes, it was a strain on me/no one can take you away from me, no, no one" and then back to 3rd person.

I loved that Stevie was trying to let her fans in that way, and I wondered if anyone else was as shocked as I was when she changed tense.

Hmmmm I think Stevie does this all the time in most of her songs...especially live.
I think this song is one of the better songs on TOSOTM. Great writing but most of the album has great writing.

Interesting theory. I would think that's more so true with street angel though, you?
