Given things that have transpired in the intervening years, I'm interested in "For John." We know how John McVie felt about Crystal. I wonder if this song has something in it to which he relates. Or it could just relate to him.

My hunch is that it was written for John Lennon, since it was published about two weeks after his death. Would be very cool if it were about "our" John, though.

"So Far" is on BMI's site, but not the US Copyright site, so there's no date for that one. It definitely exists though.

Thunder could be a working title for Dreams? I found those titles on the old Stevie Nicks Underground. Thanks for the information about the other songs!

Ok, maybe I'm thinking of a similarly titled song, but wasn't there a limited edition of In Your Dreams that was an exclusive from one of the online CD shops that had that song on it?

Back in 1998 I proposed to the Ledge that the Enchanted version of Gold and Braid was, in fact, the studio version of Gold and Braid. I think that they replaced the live version audio with the studio track for the HBO special like they redubbed Stevies Vocals on Edge of 17. That is why we have not heard the recorded version of Gold and Braid... it would be admitting "fraud".

That's crazy. There are several studio cuts of Gold And Braid available on the master reels, and none of them resemble the live version exactly.

I have what are clearly two separate versions of "Gold And Braid" one live and the other a studio version...Are you saying there is a third version?

Yah, neither of those are completed tracks. They have more in common with the "Working" takes of the other Bella Donna tracks. Those are not the final completed versions.

There are several studio "takes" with "live" instruments. I do not think any finished products have every been seen where they had prerecorded instruments and then dubbed vocals. like all the other tracks on Bella Donna were done.

The closest thing to a Studio Version were the Master Reels that had some various levels of completeness.
