so this quote (from that article at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/0...omm_ref=false):

"Because of Stevie's absence, there's been a very strong link musically between Lindsey and I, where we've actually been able to concentrate and co-write," McVie said, before assuring HuffPost Entertainment that Nicks will eventually have a large part in the album. "Some of the results of those fresh ideas were sort of unusual for me and Lindsey to co-write, anyway. We’ve done it together in the studio this time and have got some fantastic, quite profound, quite surprising emotions out of it. It knocked my socks off completely." They hope to have the record out before summer 2015.

does this mean that when they collaborated and co-wrote songs for white album, or TITN, they didn't do it together, in the studio? and can this give us hope these new co-writes will be very different from the old ones (i really only love world turning, of all their co-writes)?

I don't know about the World Turning, but for Tango they said they just took each other's songs and worked on them separately. They weren't banging them out together. Michele

I would imagine World Turning was indeed written together because they only spent a few months in the Valley.

But it sounds like this new album is really a lot of collaboration with existing material. He might have had an A section written and she said let me take that and write the B section... and then he produced it..

or like in the article.. he has an instrumental.. and she put the melody and lyrics over it...

I'm so Excited!!

We have to wait a year.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Default Release Date for new album

When Christine received her Lifetime Award at the Ivor Novello Awards on 22nd May she stated that ----
"We are in the process of making another studio album which should be out next year "--------

Saw that too. I think that's encouraging they have a slightly concrete time frame they're looking at instead of just "2015"

It will drop like the Extended Play did, like a lead balloon on iTunes.

A physical release and a digital download. Tentatively I'd suggest that should be released next year means it would be about October of this year.

Just a stupid hunch.

Next year is 365 dates from the date that comment was made. Should is conditional tense.

Allegedly, the album will be released within the next 365 days of 22/05/2014 is all that we know at this stage.

My presumption is that it will be earlier rather than later, towards the end of 2014 somewhere between October through til December.

I'm just an idiot fan though. What would I know?
I just have a PhD in Fleetwood Mac-ology from the University of Life.

Default New Fleetwood Mac album in the Works

Ok so I decided to make this thread because there was no thread regarding this (just a million Rolling Stone articles)

Lets keep organised and write what we know

Album to be released in Spring 2015

Recorded from March - June at the Village (Stevie's songs and parts not recorded yet)
Song titles include - Red Sun, Carnival Begin, Gone Too Far, and How I Feel
Possible song titles include - On With the Show, Hunger, Lay Down For Free
