Default Tour Program Pics

Hi all,

I just posted some pictures from the tour book. Guess those lucky Lubbock folks may have a nice collectible on their hands.

SLN News & Info

I can guess what will happen. They will print a ton (finally) and find they are stuck with a bunch and the books will be EVERYWHERE after awhile. (Atleast I hope so) hehe

From what I can see of the photos and layouts, it is yet another crappy hack job. My God, why does this band (and Stevie solo) continually let such substandard product be hocked to their fans?

Bob Welch was so right (in the Q&A) when he said that Mick Fleetwood doesn't always surround himself with people who represent him well. This was in regards to the fan club fiasco. In an indirect way, that can apply here.

The tour books just plain suck! So embarassingly high-school year book amatuerish...the bad photo editing, bad layouts, the lack of any personal statements or meaningful verbage.

I have countless tour programs from other bands...they don't suck!
Anyone here think the the FM/SN tour books suck?
Why do they suck?
Which ones suck the most?
Who is utimately responsible for the sucking???

Remember, those are scans of the now-DESTROYED tourbooks. Apparently someone real high up also felt the same you did, they were available at Lubbock and then were taken off the merch stands. They are not on www.fanfire.com as of today either.

Does anyone know if they have been re-released yet???

THANKS Daniel for the scans!!!

Which ones suck the most? The ones that Chris Nicks gets his grubby paws on. Just look at the CD insert for Street Angel or the tourbook for TISL. 'Nuff said.

Or how about the Enchanted insert? Some nice photos, but overall, highly disappointing.

Ok, I am horribly out of the loop.
But, I am constantly thinking "WHAT IS UP WITH THE TOURBOOKS!!"

I was just at the Kiss/Aerosmith concert last week....THEY had friggin' tourbooks!!!! WTF!!!!!!

What is the story, that I have obviously missed, with the Mac's tourbooks??

They should look back on the Tusk, the Rumours and The Other Side Of the Mirror Tourbooks and follow that pattern and avoid the themes that Enchanted and TISL took-stinky calendars and postcard scenes.

As a longtime fan, I find it highly insulting that the so-called professionals in the FM organization can't even manage to provide fans with a quality tour book.

For myself, tour programs are the ultimate souvenier, after you've shelled out a hundred or so bucks for the concert. They are highly collectable and seem to appreciate in value over time. (Though, I'd never consider selling mine....unless I needed money for a liver transplant or something dire like that! lol)

Instead, we are presented with cheesy, throw-away little key chains, coffee mugs, badly designed $40 t-shirts, and most egregiously....those f-ing teddy bears. Wouldn't a Penguin be more appropriate, marketing genuises???? Duh! It just seems like no thought what-so-ever went into this.

The greed factor just smacks me in the face, and is more evident than it has ever been. I love the band and their music, but the people they put in charge of merchanise have absolutely no connection to band's real fans.

Could you imagine how different it would be if they actually listened to and consulted their fan base on such matters?

I respect your opinion, but.... Could you imagine how difficult it would be if they actually had to listen to and consult the fan base? I can.... nothing would get done because no-one would be able to agree on anything.

This message board clearly shows that everyone has an opinion which they will defend to the end. There is always going to be someone pissed off about something. You can't please all of the people all of the time.

I think having a connection to the fan base would be key - and for some reason I think they are tapped into it. Who knows maybe it could be more. But you can't ignore the net anymore, that's pretty evident.

Well, you could always find your way over to Mick's prozac board. Thsoe people aren't allowed to have dissenting opinions. that's what I like about this board. i don't find the people to be pissed off at all. Opinionated yes. I like that. it's kind of hard to tell emotion through some words on a page, no?

lol...I didn't mean to say that a literal connection to the fan base needed to made! Yes, for sure, any large committee -- especially Fleetwood Mac's entire fan base -- would never come to any consensus. It's not about a committee...it's about being better in touch with your market -- what they are asking for, what product do they want etc...and then putting out a quality product. As a business, I think Fleetwood Mac has made a piss pour effort of that.

So true. The Street Angel booklet is atrocious!
