Brown Eyes is, in my opinion, the most perfect Mac song ever recorded. If there is one song I want to hear Chris break out in this year's tour, Brown Eyes would be it.
I kinda dig this cover... I especially like the really simple acoustic guitar. Tusk was a highly avant garde album, so this avant garde video for it seems appropriate. I just love Mac covers, hearing how new generations of folks interpret songs that very obviously inspired and informed them as artists. I tell you who I'd like to cover Brown Eyes would be someone like Patty Griffin. I could just imagine her pulling out an awesome slide guitar, like the Mac did for the Shake The Cage tour:

Agreed, and because it's largely unknown it would have a chance to be big for someone. Personally I always thought a more modern version, and a little bit darker version of Little Lies could be really awesome. However, it was so big as a hit, it wouldn't likely be able to get much long lasting traction.
I also thought the version of Straight Back from the recent tribute album, was outstanding. |
