I suspect "Sad Angel" will be included on a future Mac album, albeit in revised form with the addition of Christine's keyboards and backing vocals. A re-recorded "Miss Fantasy" might be a possibility, but I don't imagine the other two EP tracks will be considered for inclusion.

I wonder if the poor mastering of the EP was a concession to Itunes/IPod listeners as opposed to audiophiles?

I loved the part in the Vegas show when Lindsey said musically he thinks they've played as good as they ever have this tour.

I remember when he said "TITN" -- which he doesn't usually do when he introduces Big Love. That got a warm reaction.

for sure.

however, i do think that he genuinely felt proud of what they were doing while they were working on SYW. many of those songs were stellar. he may not be that happy with the final result though, idk. but he certainly lighted up when TrueFaith was praising SYW at his m&g.

for his new songs he recorded with Mick and John i believe he said they were as FM-y as can be and the best they've done in a long long time.

pretty sure that was not the reason.

Yes, I think he felt proud of the album when they were working on it and even when they were touring on those songs. I think he believed in them. And adding Red Rover later and leaving it in the set, was a vote of confidence and faith to me. I mean it said, "I don't care what people think. I'm proud of it."

That said, I don't want to hear any SYW songs that I've already heard live again. There are some I want to hear, but not the ones that have already been performed. Although the title track was made because of Christine and probably would sound great with her.

Well, I don't consider BTLH a SYW song. It was on The Dance first. That leaves Come as the lone SYW rep in his solo career.

I'd love to hear Chris on the title track! SYW would be a great candidate for retooling on the next tour.

I'd love to hear Red Rover live again. Until SWS came out I thought RR was the best song Lindsey's ever recorded. Loved it live during the SYW tour.

I especially want to hear "Thrown Down" and "Steal Your Heart Away."

I agree that the Stevie/Christine combo has been over looked. I think it's because two women dueting together is not as mainstream as a woman and man. I love them singing together on the live 1979 cd and other live stuff of the 70s. You have love in store, beautiful child, honey hi, in the back of my mind, freedom, over my head, and, well that's all I got. They don't have to write a song together. Christine wrote all the songs Lindsey was sang with her on, except world turning.

I agree with everyone that Christine's return will be a game changer for Stevie.
I also think John's health scare last year will make a difference for everyone...they don't have that much time left! With the group's 50th anniversary fast approaching, I think they probably have the next three years mapped out!
And, yes, I would think most, if not all, of the EP songs would be included for those who don't download!

I agree......a Christine/Stevie duet is the one thing that's never happened that NEEDS to happen!

I have no enthusiasm for a FM album. If it sounds like the EP, it will be pablum and a sad way for FM to go out on. Because, believe it, this thing will likely sell even less than SYW and the band will never record again. At least if SYW is the band's last studio album, it will stand up as a collection of songs with some real flashes of brilliance, even though it is uneven as a set.

Lindsey seems to have talked himself into believing he has to write these really uninteresting pop songs for FM. He followed SWS, which was exciting and brilliant, and the This is 40 contributions, which were as shiny and well-crated as any pop songs Lindsey has ever done, with probably what I see as some of his worst output, the EP. I'd rather he gave up on the whole thing and went back into the studio to give us some more of his solo weirdness.

If FM must record as a band, then thrown out the rule book and start from scratch. Seat the band members in a circle and do some live recordings. Use real acoustic guitars. Forget the studio wizardry. Give us an organic sound. Go listen to bands like Lone Bellow and Mumford and Songs to get a sense of how to update the FM sound from the 70s-meets-the-80s-meets-the-90s inconsistency of SYW. I want something cohesive, smart and well-produced. Otherwise, as I said, Lindsey should go back to the studio and give us more weirdness, synthetic sounds and all.

Totally agree on the bold part, Rockaway. But I never see this happening. I'd like to see them at least get together in the studio and fight eachother artisticly. Bring in demo's and concoct an album TOGETHER. Even that seems an impossibility.

I'll take a new FM album over any solo (I'm not a big Stevie solo, so). I like Lindsey solo a lot(especially OOTC and SWS), but I'll do without a new LB album/tour for an FM album/tour.

I agree completely. Try to replicate the White Album. Go in and hammer out 10-12 good songs. Work TOGETHER, and enough with the studio tricks(a gift he seems to have lost, anyway)!

Agreed. But not on the bold part. SWS is tremendous, including the productionsheen.
