Default Will Cross Roads be released on CD?

I never anticipated that I would have such and emotional reaction to Stevie and Lady Antebellum's Crossroads performance so much. I've watched it about 7 times thus far. Every time it evokes some strong emotions.

I think it's because Stevie is so on her game. Her vocals are strong, and her presence oozes genuine, unforced, legendary rock star status. It shows that she put in the work to blend in seamlessly with the band - the sign of a true professional; even more remarkable because she's with people young enough to be her kids.

It's very heartening to see these "kids" showing so much respect for her. They are so giddy and demonstratively elated having her perform with them. When Stevie is singing perfect harmonies or belting out a line, they visibly show their awe at her seasoned talent. It's clear that they are well aware they are with a legendary figure.

I actually tear up about that, because there were many years when Stevie was treated as a joke in the media, and generally not taken too seriously. And granted, she's had some low moments. But in recent years there has been a big shift of perspective. With age she has definitely changed that perception. She is more consistent and approachable than ever. Her public perception has turned so drastically. She is culturally referenced all the time now in a positive light. Even any parodies of her in the current media, such as The Simpsons cartoon show depicting her as a goat, are doing it as backhanded homage to her. She has become a trans-generational cultural icon who deserves respect, and now she's getting it in droves.
I would love to smoke a bowl with her. (that's the wine I just finished talking). Time for bed.

CMT did put out one DVD from Crossroads. Maybe this one will make it to DVD too. It seems like they certainly promoted a whole lot, so they must think the interest in it is there.

Turning them into audio files is a great idea. I remember when I first watched it I felt quite emotional, which is why I could relate to the first post here. I love seeing her work with younger artists. I love seeing the respect they have for her, and the respect she has for them! And it proves how versatile she is, and how relevant she is in today's music scene. She's just great!

I love your post. I agree that it is so nice to see Stevie enjoying herself on this collaboration with Lady A. I had never even listened to this band before Crossroads, and I've found that they have some pretty interesting stuff out there. I also love that my 9 year old daughter has grown to love Stevie and to appreciate her music on a whole new level this year! Yes, the younger ones ARE taking notice! Thanks for showing them what real music is, Stevie!

ME TOO. Stevie on Love don't live here anymore. She is FUN and rockin' it. Absolutly love when she sings "you can lay in the bed you've made"

Although....when she sings it during the first worse the original lyrics are "and think what's mine is yours again". So either they decided to Change it or, which probably is more likely, Stevie's memory failed her

I never paid much attention to them either. I hated their name, and dismissed them as a cheesy country- rock band. But my perception has changed. Still unsure of whether I will jump on board and accept them into my vast music/media collection, but they seem to be very nice people with a lot of talent and integrity.

I have one slight peeve about Stevie, in one of those little conversational clips. She just had to bring up Lindsey, speculating that if they didn't join Fleetwood Mac, they may have gotten married and had a child. Really? How annoying that she is still, after all this years, talking about **** like that, still hanging on to a very stale myth. Move on girl!

Did she ever speculate the other side of the coin? They declined the offer to join Fleetwood Mac, got married and had a kid. They never got another record deal and their career tanked, the marriage turned sour (likely), and she became a single mother and frustrated artist. Of course her dad would step in and financially support her.

Palladia aired the full performance (including "Gold Dust Woman," etc.), but so far I haven't seen it leaked online. Hopefully someone has it and will share it.

I just turned to see where Palladia was on the dial when I read your post and they've got Glastonbury 2011 playing now. Ha, in a couple of years it could be FM's Glastonbury show I'm seeing there.
