Wow, I never knew that about Bob offering his services after Lindsey's departure (unless, of course, you're pulling my leg!). Now that would have been something...

Froom's work with Richard Thompson (especially "Dangerous Adventures," "Rumor and Sigh," and "Mirror Blue") was great because it was minimalist, yet tasteful. Not over the top, but not lacking, and it highlighted Thompson's talents as a writer and guitarist. At THIS stage in their career, this is exactly what Fleetwood Mac needs, IMO. They're the elder statesmen, not the kids trying to make a name for themselves. Quote:

They should bring Richard and Ken Caillat. That would be amazing..

That being said, the band has most certainly burned their bridges with Richard, and I suspect they may have with Ken, too. I can't see Fleetwood Mac courting Ken and/or Richard, but stranger things have happened when it comes to this band, that's for sure.

According to Ken's book, they have both been frozen out of contact with the band for many years. Richard became disgusted with this some years ago, threw away all of his Fleetwood Mac memorabilia, and refuses to speak about his time with them anymore. It seems there was more involved than that; I need to reread Ken's book.

"Richard said that they’ve pretty much abandoned him. He would work for Lindsey three years straight without getting a check. He just took advantage of him. So, Richard, being a pretty sensitive guy, just sold and gave away every piece of Fleetwood Mac memorabilia he had."

Thanks to both of you. I remember reading this actually. I wonder if anything has changed.

I know Richard was at two of Lindsey's solo concerts I saw in Vegas (Steve was with Richard). I wouldn't be surprised if he could be cajoled back to produce, but I don't think the band would be interested.
Thinking of Richard, I was just reading an article where Mick was talking about some condition (hypoglycemia?) he got which made him sick during a press conference and Christine rubbed his shoulders to try to give him release. Anyway, he said this illness gave him visions which came true. One of the visions he saw was a policeman with Richard and sure enough when he called Richard, Richard said that a policeman friend of his had visited the studio, while Mick was away. Michele |

And of course that's from Mick's book. I was wondering if they confused the story with Chris massaging Mick's shoulders during the press conference...

a) Richard lived with Lindsey at the time he was according to Ken not getting paid ; b) Richard and Steve were at Lindsey's show in Vegas i believe on UTS tour and Lindsey said they were his partners in crime or something like that - that they are to blame he was up there on that stage; and last but not least: c) that in 2012 Richard said he was very open to working with Lindsey.
