who was she mad at? Were fans getting on the stage and security not keeping them back? Was security being OVERLY zealous in keeping fans back and not letting them get closer???or was she just in a really rotten mood and everyone was getting the stink eye for anything?

The fans got into a fight below and someone was bleeding I think. Stevie was mad at the aggressive fan and at security for not doing enough to stop it. She stood at the mic and bristled and at first, you know, we thought she was just standing there, because unless you were where the fight happened, you did not know about it, but the longer she stared, the more people realized something was wrong and a pall went through the whole audience. I'm sure you have heard the tape where she could not finish Goodbye Baby. The fight happened at the end of Don't Stop, but when they returned for the encore, she was still rattled. Mick tried to comfort her. She indicated she couldn't sing. She said to Lindsey, "You do it. You do it." So, Lindsey started it as she wept and I was duly charmed, but I think she was saying to herself, "Man, he does not know the words. It's a good thing I never asked him to sing Sable on Blond or anything actually confusing! " so she pulled herself together and came back to the mic.

Then, Mick gave us a somber speech at the end. I mean, it was his usual "be kind to one another" but this time it contained a lecture tone.

Was there a specific moment when you turned from being Stephanie Lynn Nicks into “Rock Star Stevie Nicks”?
I knew that I was Stevie Nicks after about three weeks of being in Fritz. I would stroll through San Jose State with my guitar case thinking, ”Does everybody know who am? I’m a rock star.” I felt it and I believed it.
Ya know she never used to talk like this. Remember when Stevie was tightly kept away from ANYTHING to do with fame/her place in rock history etc.?? I call that humble Stevie. But now whoa! she is terribly aware of ALL of it ,the 'legend' status ,the fan obsession, the general separate entity ..as Mojo has in quotations ''Rock Star Stevie Nicks''. I think it started around Crystal Visions era ,suddenly the last 5 years it was all gross money boasting & recognition of who she was in the public's glaring eyes. They couldn't keep it way from her forever obviously but humble Stevie will always be infinitely more appealing. It's never good to hear someone talk about themselves in the third person

^ I've heard her say pretty much the exact same thing re: feeling like she was a tok star when she joined Fritz at least 2 other times, but I can't recall the date of her statements. I think once it might have been the Oprah master class.

^ yes it's still that last 5 year time frame.and not just the Fritz quote but the altogether ego thing that has developed. She's still herself of course just with a little corruption added lol

They didn't stay that way with each other, but it lasted for the first part of the show, then they got friendly again. Stevie and Lindsey, on the other hand, never interacted normally that night. Lindsey even mentioned it the next week when she asked him to jump into the WY speech, he was like, 'Oh you want me to say something? The last two nights you didn't."
That's very interesting. I would tend to think it was just about the sound problem. If John and Stevie took the stage furious with each other, I don't know why it would suddenly be water under the bridge a few songs later....maybe after a great show, you could put the issue in perspective and bury the hatchet, but I don't know. Now the Lindsey-Stevie thing seems like something completely unrelated to a technical glitch.

The ice seemed to melt gradually. They had time backstage together maybe, during Big Love. Also, Christine was probably backstage as well and they might have had a few moments to connect all together. They ususally talk during Sad Angel's intro and other times when they don't talk they kind of play, like Stevie will always tip her imaginary hat to his real hat or she will bow and then he will bow back to her or something. So, when they were both frigid and stormy, it stood out.

Then, I just know that by the time we were half way in and the guy next to me was yelling at John and saying stuff like "Hey Johnny Mac" Stevie acknowledged that and kind of kidded John about it and John then smiled and turned towards the guy in the audience and batted his hand at him as if to say, "Oh get out of here."

As far as Mick went, on the other hand, everything Stevie usually does to him (like standing in front of his drum kit waving her head wildly as he balks back at her) and their playfulness during the WY intro and Gypsy ... she still did all of that.
