Default Stevie Nicks Question Almost Shuts Down Katy Perry Interview - Video

Katy Perry interviewed by "Sunday Night" on channel 7 - Australia is stunned, or stumped by a question the interviewer Jackie Frank asked when talking about the meaning of Katy's "Roar" asking "So was Stevie Nicks wrong?" Katy with a somewhat blank look on her face asks the question back and Jackie continues by saying "Stevie Nicks felt that "Roar" was about one of your ex's" At that point someone from the sidelines interjects and the subject is changed. Video below... Start watching at about 3:20 if you don't want to watch the full clip

That was awkward.

I don't think Stevie said it was ABOUT one of her exes, I think it she said something more along the lines of it being a great MESSAGE to her exes - which actually fits right in with what Katy is saying about it being all about learning how to speak up for herself etc.

I wonder why they cut off the question - did they not want her to have to say Stevie was wrong, or did they not want her to have to start talking about her exes?

Now I'm intrigued.

Yes I had that thought too. Her 'advisers' are very much dictating and yet I assume they okayed the interview content. Maybe it gets a message across without words and doesn't betray a new 'friend' in her eyes? Curious.

Katy Perry seems like the nicest person.

She does seem darn likeable, doesn't she?

I don't know if I'd say that this rather awkwardly-formed question "almost shut down" the interview. It just seemed to me like she wasn't prepared to get that personal and didn't quite know how to put that without giving anything away or coming off cold. Seems fair enough. That seems to be something pop stars often have to deal with.

As far as I know, someone cannot quote someone else or even say what someone else's opinion on a subject is without making yourself wide open for a lawsuit.Katy's PR person was probably just covering her ass by cutting off the interview. As far as the interviewer goes, she's on her own..
