Default Illume and Thrown Down: UNMIXED

I've seen files of Thrown Down and Illume titled "Unmixed" floating around and was wondering if anyone else has heard them. I haven't had any luck getting them, unfortunately. Are they much different from the album versions? I'm very curious. Also, has anyone gotten demos or outtakes from the album? Surprisingly, none have been leaked and I'm dying to hear them!!

Question

It is odd that some demos/outtakes haven't leaked out yet!?!? I hope someone has them.

I dont have any unmixed Illume, but I do have demo versions of the following off of SYW: Miranda, Steal Your Heart Away, Bleed to Love Her, Goodbye Baby (The Tower), Say Goodbye, Come, Red Rover, Murrow, Throwndown, Running Thru The Garden, Smile At You

Id love them of:
Illume, WTWCT, Peacekeeper, SYW, Destiny Rules, Silver Girl

email me at [email protected] if you want to trade maybe? I dont have this all on ONE CD, by the way, they are scattered across many. Hope this helps.

I have some called "unmixed" but when I downloaded them, I realized that they were actually just the normal songs with the vocal track isolated. Now, I admit, I do like "unmixed" Illume better because you don't have to listen to those funky voices that freak me out and totally ruin the song for me! How can one be moved to tears by an inhumanly manipulated voice?

Yeah, I know what you mean; I have no idea why they decided to use that voice, it stinks to the high heavens. Does anyone but me think that they got that voice by morphing Lindsey's and Stevie's voices together? I think that's what they did.

Where did you download the tracks from, Nancy? WinMX? KaZaa?

I actually like the song that way... reminds me of the urgency, the emotion of the moment... the "how we can get out" feeling. Really hits home for me the reason behind why she wrote the song. Just my $0.02, but Id love to hear what you ladies are referencing.

Well, I have all the old demos, just not the new ones; someone must have them and is being stingy (like someone who has Black Velvet, the bastard!!)! Thanks anyway, though, Stephanie!

If I ever get ahold of the unmixed songs, I'll let you know

Exclamation If you have...

a DVD player you can make the "unmixed" versions of the regular released "Say You Will" album.

I made my "Mono Mixes" version the day the album was released and one of my versions of "Illume" & "Thrown Down" sound IDENTICAL to the "Unmixed versions"...

I definitely call these tracks "Outfakes", Which is what they would be considered to the Beatles trading community...Not true demos at all.

Stevie did a benefit show a few years abck and sang "It Takes Two" and the Allanah Myles song "Black velvet." You know, the one that goes: "Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell/Jimmy Rogers on the vitrola up high..."

Anyways, someone taped it and "It Takes Two" was floating around for a little while. Unfortunately, "Black Velvet" was never released by the taper. It's probably the most sought after Stevie boot out there and some jerk is sitting on it like a Scrooge!

Isn't It Takes Two a duet? Who sang the other part? I can picture Stevie doing Black Velvet. That's what I love about her benefit shows-the spotanaeity. It's also part of the reason I didn't go to Phoenix this year-because I didn't think there would be any.

I like the 'serpent' voice in Illume - the song is about a nightmare and that just fits in with it for me.

I had them e-mailed to me, but I forget by whom (sorry!) I have made them available on WinMX, though, although I'm pretty mad that no one who I'm downloading seems to be on anymore. One time I left it on for THIRTY-SIX HOURS and only got TWO downloads of songs completed. It's very frustrating.
