Times getting close!! Can't wait! Fleetwood Mac performing at Jazz Fest has been a dream of mine for years now; I can't believe they are actually doing it! I hope to be able to get together with yall. Love hanging out with other hard core Mac fans.

This pic is from Jazzfest yesterday...some of the areas throughout The Fairgrounds are pretty mucky due to all of the rain this past week...bring rubber boots!

Wouldn't it be neat if Lindsey played in Little Big Town's set as he did several years ago OR if they joined them for "The Chain" or "Go Your Own Way?" I really enjoyed the DVD of his performance with them, and since they are playing it would be neat to see a collaboration again.
Or at least hear a story of how they all met up excitedly and were happy to see each other again! |

exactly what i was thinking since i first heard of the lineup and LBT going right before LB and FM. LB+LBT version of the Chain and GYOW are still among the best i've ever heard.

I didn't like LBT on GYOW, but I really enjoyed The Chain. It was the best I'd heard it since Christine left.

i liked the harmonies on both a lot. i did miss John's bass on The Chain, but i still loved the version. and acoustic version they did at the rehearsals was really really interesting.

Jazz Fest 2013 and Fleetwood Mac: Which hit do you want to hear? By Maggie Calmes, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune Follow on Twitter on May 04, 2013 at 12:15 PM http://www.nola.com/jazzfest/index.s...eetwood_m.html Today is the day that I - and thousands of others - have waited for, tickets in hand, with bated breath: it's Fleetwood Mac Day, otherwise known as the second Saturday of New Orleans Jazz Fest,. First of all, please take note that Fleetwood's performance time has been bumped up to 4:40 p.m. from 5:10 p.m. I can only image how I would feel if I trudged through the mud and crowds only to find that I've missed a half hour of twirling and tambourines. Second, I'm wondering which hits you're most excited to hear. Which songs would make your day? I've attempted to narrow my list to five, which you can see and hear below. I've abandoned hope that Christine McVie will appear with the band, so I've excluded any McVie-led tracks. If you can't make the Fest today, all the more reason to hear and share your favorites with other superfans! Check out my picks and weigh in in the comments! 1. What Makes You Think You're the One - Because: Lindsey Buckingham's ecstatic shredding. 2. Tusk - Because: What if Fleetwood Mac performed with a brass ensemble? 3. That's Alright - Because: This simple, charming, country-fied song is my favorite track from Mirage. 4. Silver Springs - Because: Stevie Nicks' ballad of heartache and otherworldly vengeance would make for a hauntingly beautiful festival interlude. 5. Gypsy - Because: Twirling. Who doesn't want to hear Gypsy? |

.......... Many danced as Fleetwood Mac performed such hits as “Dreams,” ‘’Rhiannon,” ‘’Gypsy,” ‘’Tusk” and “Landslide,” which drew huge roars from the crowd when Stevie Nicks introduced it. Nicks also delivered her tribute to the host city, singing a portion of her song, “New Orleans,” which she said she wrote after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. “I wanna get a room in New Orleans, I wanna sing in the streets of the French Quarter,” she sang. The band also performed a new song, “Sad Angel,” testing it out with the crowd. Toward the end of their set, they played an old favorite, “Go Your Own Way” at the end of which Buckingham shouted to the crowd, “New Orleans, we love you!” They left the stage briefly before returning for an encore performance of “The World Keep On Turning,” a song from their self-titled first album released in 1968 and “Don’t Stop.” .............

So, if you know which album the song came from, why is it you don't know the title of the song? It would take 20 seconds to look it up on Amazon.
Nah, I'll just guess. I hear them saying "World Turning," but that doesn't seem like a long enough title, so I'll just throw in a couple of words. I didn't hear them sing those words, but I think Fleetwood Mac has a song called World Keep on Turning, so this must be it. Michele |
