Default Stevie Writes Led Zeppelin Intro

Led Zeppelin: Sound And Fury Set For Release

4/8/2013 9:35 PM ET RTT News
http://www.rttnews.com/2090486/new-b....aspx?type=ent

Led Zeppelin are releasing a digital book, Led Zeppelin: Sound and Fury, exclusively through the Apple iBookstore on April 15. Neal Preston, a photographer with up-close access to the group during the 70s, wrote the book.

According to a presser, the book "blend[s] images, interviews, and information to allow readers inside access into some of the greatest moments in rock history."

The digi book features a host of content including 250 of photos of the band onstage and behind the scenes (including over 100 previously unseen images), audio introductions, written pieces, hi-definition video interviews, commentary from contemporary artists, technical camera info, a band discography and more.

Led Zeppelin: Sound and Fury features an introduction written by Stevie Nicks; it is available for pre-order at the iTunes store now.

Yay!! I personally think an intro by Heart would be wicked - they cover Led Zeppelin songs like no one's business!!

Wow.Stevie is getting around.I'm proud of her doing so.

The only tune from LED Zep I love is Stairway to Heaven.I'm not into any of their other tunes. But their other tunes are 100 percent better then todays rock music.

I love to hear her sing "Stairway" instead of "Rock and Roll".

I haven't read it yet, thanks to OP for the nice picture though.

Yeah, if you like photographs so much, why don't you and the other Macsters give us some new ones of you together? I'd like to look in your souls and see who you really are.

I just love that it's a digital book, only available on iTunes..... things with which Stevie insists on remaining unfamiliar. Too funny.

I think this was badly written. She uses the word photographs too many times (and I would say that to Bob Dylan if he were to do that ) and 'they are mine'.... really???

also the word "really" far too many times in just one or two sentences. sorta like how she uses the word "dream" in her songs.

Or the words 'sea' and 'ocean' not to mention 'well'.

There's also some sentence fragments and overall poorly structured sentences.... but I wasn't going to say anything

Because I'm an over-analytical freak, I feel the need to go over everything with a red pen. I probably would have edited that so it was more palatable to the general reader, and gone with something like:

"Without photographs, the world of Led Zeppelin would exist only in stories and recorded music and concerts. These images are like eyes into their souls allowing us to see the quiet moments in which they were able to be who they really are.

I treasure these beautiful pictures of those four gorgeous men. They are mine. They bring tears to my eyes. They inspire me to continue on. They make me want to dance across the stages of the world. "

But of course Stevie wanted photos for the EP, right? I wonder why they didn't do that.

I normally don't quibble about minor grammatical infractions, but since you are busting out the red pen, I should note that it should be "There are..." not "There's...."

That being said, I agree that it's not the best two paragraphs I've ever read. I'm not even sure something this brief even qualifies as a "Foreward." But then again, this is a "virtual" picture book, so it's not supposed to contain a lot of words. Oh, and her use of "eyes to the soul..." Really? Could she have busted out a more clichéd phrase? She's a poet for crikeys' sake! Creative analogies are the stuff of prolific writers!

Envisioning them dancing around the stages of the world made me think of them all as sweet girls.
