Default TISL vs. IYD Track by Track Day Ten

In an upset, Love Changes charges past Soldier's Angel. What's today gonna do?

The first time I've voted for a TISL track in one of these polls!

This one was tough..I love both songs..But, the whisper singing in For What It's Worth melts me everytime...I can FEEL her emotion in it and I love that.

For What it's Worth by a very large margin.

I personally think that "I Miss You" is perhaps the worst song she has ever written/recorded. Low, droning vocals. Insipid lyrics, awkward word choice ("questions about love, about pain, about strained relationships and about fame as only he could explain it to me...), plodding musical arrangement, etc. When I first listened to TISL, I recall thinking WTF?? when this song came on.

Agreed. But oddly enough I remember I Miss You being an instant favorite of many. What they were drawn to or still are drawn to I'll never know.

I just can't get into I Miss You.

For What It's Worth, on the other hand, is probably my favorite song off of IYD.

I MISS YOU is sorta bland but its the only song off TISL that struck an emotional chord. And its not as bland as LOVE IS, which has absolutelty nothing special about, except the fact that Stevie likes to sing it because its easy to sing.

I've been shut out on the voting process for the last 3 days. Each time I open the thread it says the poll is closed already.

Even tho it doesn't count I vote for I Miss You. The part that Ed highlighted in the song that he doesn't like is my favorite part of that song.

I'm so sorry Viv! I'm trying to keep the polls only open for 24 hours since we have a lot of songs to get to. I totally forgot to post today's poll, so it's going up very late. I hope you get to vote!!

You know, I thought the same thing about the entire album, not just about I Miss You. It seemed to meander on and on going no where. The only song I liked was TFFT. No melody, much less a beat. There was nothing I could even get a foothold on to hum to myself after it was over. And really I had the album about 2 years before I fell in love with it.
