Fantastic read for anyone who considers themselves a music fan.

Great read, thanks for sharing.

Number 4 is the one I that upsets me. Digital remastering can be done so very wrong.

The others are expected, and institutionalized, unfortunately.

"Loudness Wars" issue...Man, I hate to say it but I prefer the original cd releases over the "remastered" releases, I hate having to turn down my stereo because the volume on new discs are a maximum volume range...Add all the bonus tracks and crap and I still refuse to purchase the new "remasterings".

In fairness, they are not all done that way. It's really up to the engineers doing the mastering. Of course, there is no way to know until you hear it, although if you wait a couple days after release you can usually find out in product reviews if they just cranked the volume.

Loudness is part the reason why today's music stinks. That plus Autotune.

Also if they are still doing it.The payola crap got to stop with the corporate radio stations.

The bucks got to be exchanging to play curtain artists and other artists are overlooked.
