Lord have mercy!...I have never seen a song so picked apart in all my life.

Yes, dance with the devil is trite...but hearing Stevie sing it with such fierce passion excuses her in my book!

I am just thrilled that she is rocking-a-little with this tune!
She sings with passion and actually hits a few upper notes!

Way to go Stevie!
(PS...Please have Dave Grohl produce your next album!)

It's because she regressed from In Your Dreams.

I don't think this is a regression from IYD. I just think some of the lyrics are weak. It's not a bad song overall.. I just think it had a lot of potential that the lyrics kind of let down.

Musically, I like this song more than most songs on IYD.

Agreed WildHearted...Strong song musically....lyrically, a little weak, but I prefer to this to most of IYD.

didn't Stevie write the lyrics (poem) and Dave and several others mainly write the music?

Stevie wrote the lyrics to everything (except for the chorus of ELY) and the music to about half of the songs. Dave wrote the music for the other half. And Mike Campbell wrote the music to one.

You Can't Fix This is kind of a throw away so I can't agree that she has regressed over one song that was not deemed strong enough to save for an album.

He's listed as a co-writer (I don't think anything has specified in what capacity, just that Nicks and Grohl and whoever else are the writers), so he could have. But the chord progression screams Stevie to me... If I had to guess, I would bet that she came up with the basic song structure and Dave & co wrote the arrangement.

I could be wrong. And if I am, then they did a damn good job of capturing & replicating Stevie's sound.
