Went shopping for singles...

CD singles ! Not single people...LOL

I was looking for a cd single of Matchbox 20's Unwell. There isn't one, which surprises me because I heard on MTV that it has reached the top of their TRL 4 times (pretty sure that's what they said)

So anyway, I was surprised by what was and was not available. No Matchbox 20, no Peacekeeper or SYW, but 2 Madonna singles from American LIfe. Didn't somebody say that American Life didn't do well at all? A few artists I recognized and a few I didn't. And about 100 copies of Reuben's single. I'm telling you...he took up a whole row in the singles section!

I really think FM should start releasing singles. Especially now that they've extended the tour. It would keep their name out front. (SYW was not on the rack of "touring artists", which is placed right in the front section of the store. (and all are on sale)

Oh well, I guess most people buy the whole cd or download singles. I'd just like to see them get as much exposure as possible while they're hot.

They just don't put out singles like they use to...I remember back in the day, I was SOOOOO excited to go to the mall and go into Musicland or Sam Goody and look at the singles wall!! LOL

Ruben's single!! LOL Yeah, the poor guy WON AI, and nobody wants his single, they want Clay's.

Isn't that the best song on the radio right now!! The banjo part is so cool!! And Rob Thomas...what an excellent singer!!

I guess I really don't care about singles all that much. If I hear a song or two from an album that I like I tend to go out and get the album.

Guess I'm just an old horse who needs to be put out to pasture.

Whenever I buy a cd because I liked one song on it, I usually find that I don't like much more on the album. Then I get mad at myself for wasting money.

Hubby says most albums don't have more than 3 or 4 really good songs on them. I get annoyed when I skip track after track. Just seems like such a waste. (can you tell I was raised by a depression era parent...lol)
