Default Us Weekly: Stevie Nicks - among the biggest style pioneers of all time

Us Weekly just proclaimed Stevie along with Madonna and Lady Gaga as music's biggest style pioneers of all time. That's pretty heady stuff, but who am I to disagree.

Default US Weekly Video

Why Madonna, Lady Gaga and Stevie Nicks Are Music's Biggest Style Pioneers of All Time.
You can see the video at the link below.

"I picture [Stevie] and all I see is a wind machine," VH1's Carrie Keagan says of the 70s and 80s rocker, who let her bohemian locks fly in the unforgettable "Stand Back" video in 1983. "Her hair -- big, wonderful -- she was the epitome of rock and roll goddess."

Adds Us Weekly Beauty Director Gwen Flamberg of Madonna -- a.k.a. the Queen of Reinvention, who has gone from boy toy to dominatrix to Geisha to Marilyn Monroe to ethereal mama: "She pushed this 'What does it mean to be a girl?'"
And then there's Madonna's heir apparent, Lady Gaga, who rocked a bubble-adorned leotard during her first major US tour in 2009, wore a dress made entirely out of meat at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and transformed into male alter ego Joe Calderone at the 2011 VMAs.

"Because, who can do that? Lady Gaga," Keagan and Flamberg agree in unison.

VOTE: Is her style better on or off the red carpet?

Oh good, the moderator combined the threads. Looks like we posted within minutes of each other

I thought this might generate more discussion being this is a bold and unabashed proclamation. I know were preaching to the choir here, but to have a mainstream rag like US Weekly single Stevie out along with just 2 other music style trailblazers is huge. To me it further cements that Stevie really is the long distance winner and has become famous not only for her legendary music, but for her unique vision and indelible image. You almost cannot separate the two.

I feel like Cher should replace Gaga. Gaga may make fashion statements - but I don't see her as a style icon or pioneer. No one is walking around on the street dressed like Lady Gaga.

Maybe for halloween.

I love that Stevie continues to be recognized....Shes a beauty...I wouldn't include Cher in this list...I think Cher's looks/style are incredible but no one wanted to imulate Cher's looks...however, Stevie and Madonna..YES! I don't see Lady GaGa as original...talented, yes...original, no.

I think lots of people dress up like Gaga but not because it's a fashionable thing, but rather a fan thing. I don't dress in full Stevie garb, but my look is definitely inspired by her. So, while I may do a floaty skirt, I won't do the whole shebang in one outfit. How would one do that with Gaga? Just wear a blouse and a meat skirt?

C'mon, think outside the box! Why not just wrap a few slices of bacon around your wrist? Fish bone earrings? Ham pasties? The possibilities are endless!

As an aside, I was happy to see Stevie mentioned alongside Madonna and Lady Gaga. She's really starting to publicly garner more of that "legendary" status which I appreciate. With Florence Welch, Ke$ha (for better or worse), and Lady Gaga (occasionally) emmulating her style, you can really see what a lasting influence she's had in pop culture. Go, girl!

There will be alot more Gaga's running around a the end of next month for trick or treat time.I like Gaga herself .But not her tunes.I notice that Katy Perry is doing the looks changing thing.

Stevie alway have layers on her .These other artists sometime are wearing almost nothing on.
