That's a beautiful poster. Aside from a Tusk photo and my exquisite Mulder and Scully I don't hang posters, but even I would like to have that one.

FINALLY!! All the pent up eagerness for the IYD doc is becoming a reality! It would appear that the doc will be making select rounds at film festival circuits this fall. I'm holding out hope for a Denver/Boulder area screening.

All this exciting documentary news has me re-listening to "In Your Dreams" all over again with fresh ears after giving the album a much deserved break -- still a stunning record.

I agree. I honestly thought the doc would never see the light of day so this is truly a surprise. I too have been relistening to IYD. Funny how I hear it differently now that it's aged a little...I think I love it more now than when it first came out.

I still love IYD the album as well but from what we have seen can this documentary film be anything but cheesyThe most that I am hoping for is a so bad it's good camp value.

What makes you say that? The snippets I've seen where Stevie was talking about For What It's Worth being about her coming out of rehab for Klonopin & adjusting to life totally sober for the first time in decades was pretty moving to me. I thought Dave's music videos for In Your Dreams were gorgeous, so I expect a pretty great product with this documentary.

Hear hear! Must say I had long since given up on it but now that it's actually happening I'm very hopeful.

OMG that poster is actually great. For some reason that stairwell reminds me of the Exorcist.

Does anyone think it will get a DVD release? I really, really hope so - since I won't be in the US to see it.

I am a bit perplexed about all of this. I think it's one thing to produce a DVD intended to showcase each of the songs on the album for the fans of her music, but it's another thing to release a documentary to a general film audience like they seem to be attempting here. It means that the story has to be compelling in its own right, the music notwithstanding. So the challenge is to somehow make this entertaining to someone who is not very familiar with Stevie or doesn't even listen to rock music. Sure Stevie's life story is compelling, and surely some day it will be told. But this is not it (I think). Or maybe I'm expecting too much. It could be just another documentary ala Elton John and Leon Russell. But since Stevie is co-producing, I suspect it's not going to be half-assed.

The video for Moonlight was half-assed. I'm hoping any videos on this thing are done a lot better than that. I can't wait to see Italian Summer,Everybody Loves You, and Wide Sargasso Sea.

I am envisioning it being in the same general formula as the Destiny Rules documentary: essentially it'll showcase how a veteran artist records & releases new music while navigating the ever changing recording industry climate. I expect this documentary to be a bit warmer & more personal than Destiny Rules, though... which really looked at Fleetwood Mac from a remove. I expect to walk away from the IYD doc feeling fuzzy & happy to be a Stevie Nicks fan since Dave is the mastermind behind the project. The Destiny Rules documentary did not have that effect on me... it focused on the cold business side of recording industry politics & the gestational drama from the band's recording of the album. Destiny Rules showed so much compromise & fear, and not a lot of accomplishment and triumph. We KNOW that Stevie came away from In Your Dreams with the exact opposite experience, so I expect her new documentary to reflect that.

Dave said today on fb that it'll be available on all formats. Cinema screenings first tho.
