Default FM's Greatest Hits hit Top 40 in Poland

It was huge surprise for me when I saw that Fleetwood Mac's "Greatest Hits" album hit top 40 on the Polish albums chart last week. Just when I thought that Poland knows nothing more than "Little Lies" here it is "Greatest Hits" album for the first time on official Polish chart...along with Phil Collins "But Seriously" album hitting Top 10. I can't explain why it happened because the album's price has been cut some time ago (I bought it 5 years ago for the same price) and radio stations don't play anything but..."Little Lies". Miracles happen people

Well, it's rare, but you're not alone!!
He in Argentina, Fleetwood Mac is known for songs like Big Love, Everywhere, Little Lies, Seven Wonders, Dreams, and maybe Don't Stop & Go your own way. I asked people older than me if Rumours and TITN were successful here, and they said 'yes', but today, radios don't play FM very much. You can listen to Landslide, Songbird, Gold Dust Woman, but not other songs, even the last. And you can see, only songs from Rumours or TITN.
You know, they never came to this places, so maybe it's one of the reasons why they don't sound...
Regards!

That's great about the '88 GH hitting the Top 40 in Poland. I guess Little Lies along with Big Love, Everywhere, and the Tango in the Night album itself must be really popular there. My favorite are Isn't It Midnight, Seven Wonders, and Little Lies.

From what I myself have noticed especially in the Unexpected FM thread, Tango generally seems to be in second place when it comes to songs that get airplay. Obviously Rumours is first!

Not in my neck of the woods. I hear "Little Lies" once in a blue moon, but that's it. On the other hand, "Gypsy" from Mirage and "Rhiannon" from the White Album are on all the time. I hear "Say You Love Me" somewhat regularly too.

'Round these parts, the first tier of high airplay is most of the Rumours songs (mainly GDW, GYOW, Dreams, and The Chain), Gypsy, Rhiannon and Say You Love Me. Second tier is Sara, Hold Me, Over My Head, Landslide and Monday Morning, and then the final 3rd tier is pretty much anything else. I've never heard anything from Tango on the radio except for Little Lies and only very, very sporadically. The most surprising thing I've heard play was Not That Funny.

I love strange tidbits like this. I wonder if any of the band are thinking, WTF?, while they rake in some royalties.

In Poland I've never heard anything from the "Rumours" being played on the radio. Only "Tango In The Night" era singles are well known. I think the reason for it is that during late 70's Poland was under communist censorship and American music couldn't be played on radio. In the mid to late 80's situation started to change and that was when "Little Lies" hit the airwaves.

Tango was HUGE outside of America, especially in the UK and Europe and was all over the radio.

If I'm not mistaken it has sold almost as many copies in the UK as Rumours did. Mirage and the White album seem to be more popular in America, but in Europe/UK, Tango is easily their most popular album after Rumours.

Nice to see the GH doing well in Poland
