Default Paul Ryan is Romney VP Pick

I'm not one to start political threads, but enjoy lurking and sometimes participating in them. This morning it was announced that Paul Ryan would be Mitt's running mate. What do you think? Bold move. Good for the democrats? Will his budget plan with huge medicaid cuts be a turn off for senior citizens, especially in Florida?

Let the discussion begin!

I'm somewhat baffled by the choice. Ryan will not appeal to moderates/independents. Many of the swing states have already drifted toward Obama, and this will do nothing to reverse the trend. It's almost as though the GOP is asking "How can we become more unappealing?"

On the other hand, I see it as a desperation move to "shore up" the base; after all this time, no one likes Romney...even Republicans, evidently.

I agree about Bush/Cheney combo that screwed us .Poor Obama got stuck into the mess and try like hell to clean it up.But with the stale congress and state reps that he has to deal with everyday is the main problem.Alot of them been in office for ages. And some of them have been in office since FM's Rumours was release I think its time to have mandatory term limits across the board for elected officials .Some do have states have term limits and some don't.

Some times I wonder why people vote for the same useless idiots all the time.

because change is bad .and laziness , it way to much work to investigate a candidate on their own , some rely on family , clergy and fox news to tell them who to vote for.

Yes. They have the same ole lame excuses.

"I vote for whose in office already because there is nobody good on the other party to vote for".

Of they say ."This person has no experience in that political field in other then there what they are doing now .I'm not voting for him/her".

So the same old incumbents stay there forever.

That was going around when Obama was running for office.People were fussing that he has no experience for the job that he has now.

I have to say there are some that are good oldies but goodie politicians are still in office .But the majority of them are just dead wood like my dad call them.

I personally was very surprised at Romney's picking Ryan. To me, it was about the worst choice he could make for his ticket & for his party. I get it, he's appeasing the old guard Republican base by choosing what essentially amounts to another old white dude (even though Ryan is young). If the Republican party is to survive with any relevance into the 21st century, they are going to have to branch out to other races, ethnicities, religions, sexes, and creeds. The majority of babies born in the US are now minorities. Romney had a chance to bridge the gap in between the old white dude guard, and the rest of the country with his running mate choice. He rejected that golden chance. A Romney-Jindal ticket could have been utterly transformative for the Republican party, and made them all but unstoppable during the elections this fall. Instead, Romney picked a very polarizing figure: one of the most divisive figures in the least popular congressional session of all time. Ryan and his Tea Party base are the ones who have locked up this current session and made it so very ineffective & disdained. The TSA is more highly regarded than the current congress, for Pete's sake. We'll see how all this plays out, but my guess is Romney just killed his chance at the presidency.

Now is this man is Romney's final choice.

It just was last week that Dick Cheney said Sarah Palin for Vice President Was 'Mistake' For John McCain.

Unless you are making 100's of thousands of dollars and you are afraid of "them" TAKING IT .

Why would anyone vote for mitt or vote waste a vote on a candidate who hasn't a chance out of spite Just to keep President Obama from re-election .
