I was wondering what the demo of Smile at You with the vocals up front was recorded for? Was this a Fleetwood Mac demo, like the Tusk and Mirage takes, or a solo Stevie demo? At one point you hear a male voice saying "second verse" or something. Is that Lindsey? I tried searching through the forum, but didn't see anything.

I still think it's a shame that song never saw the light of day back in Fleetwood Mac's heyday. The early Smile At You's have always been my favorite Stevie demos. While the Say You Will version is interesting on it's own, I still think it's a shame the song utterly lost it's bite.

I agree. While the SYW version is still a great song, once you know what it was based on, you can't help but feel its official release let the song down.
