Maybe not, but it's fun to imagine she did. If she just poked him in the chest and said, "Hey look buddy. I've had enough of the butchering night after night. You aren't doing my song anymore," that would have been rather entertaining.

Just slipping it into her set first without saying anything to him beforehand would have been fun too, but I doubt he listens to her set, so he would never know.

I agree. When Stevie and Don did their tour together it worked. They sang together and I don't know how to describe it, but it was one of my favorite tours of hers. I didn't get to see her when she toured with Chris Issak, whom I love, and they didn't perform together. But he was the opener too. I think it would have worked better if they had done songs together. I think something must be up, because she did Leather and Lace, but without Rod.

When we got to the show the music playing was alot of R&B, mostly Gladys Knight I believe. I did hear I Would Rather Go Blind, but not the Christine McVie version. I thought that was pretty neat. When Stevie was ready to come out, they did her Not Fade Away cover. That was awesome. I think she should start every show with that.

Since the TISL tour she's been playing something just before she comes out, for TISL it was Bootylicious, then for awhile it was Missing Person's Destination Unknown. Starting with this tour it's been her own Not Fade Away.

Even though Rock n Roll isn't one of her songs, I liked how her backdrop showed all the photos of rock n roll stars. Herself included of course. At one point I thought it was going too fast and after awhile it was the same photos shown over again, but I thought it was pretty neat. After she did Stand Back she came out and explained that the cape was used in the video. You get what you pay for she said. So funny. Then she gently folded it and laid it on the riser behind her saying something like she was putting it to bed now.

Opening night in Cleveland she played Destination Unknown. The next night she started playing Not Fade Away again.

In Nashville it was "Nashville Cats".

here is a review of the show. lol if you go to the bottom and view the comments you can see i posted about the incident at the show and of course some guy named rick had to make a comment as well. it was probably the guy that poured the pop on me. the guy that did the review was kind of jerk though about stevie. not sure why but they hardly ever give her good review when she comes here.

There's no question that Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart are legends in the music industry. One was a founding member of Fleetwood Mac, and was once called "The Reigning Queen of Rock and Roll" by Rolling Stone Magazine- not an accolade to be taken lightly. The other is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, both domestically and in the U.K., where he's spawned an obscene 31 Top Ten singles.

It's also pretty obvious that the masses understand what it is to have two Rock and Roll Hall of Famers touring together. Consol Energy Center was decidedly packed on Saturday night, from the folding chairs on the floor space far up into the nosebleeds. And despite what was likely a higher average age than most concerts at Consol, many came out in full dedication, sporting Stevie Nicks outfits or Rod Stewart hairdos.

However, the concert- which never featured the two singing together- took some time to get going. Nicks was the first to don the stage to the tune of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll"- a fun song, to be sure, but not necessarily well-suited for the rock singer. After playing through "Enchanted" and "Secret Love," both of which seemed to be more suitable for her style, it was time for one of the big hits.

Described by Nicks as Fleetwood Mac's only number 1 single, "Dreams" brought the crowd to its feet as soon as the song started. However, it was in this particular track that it became apparent how much her vocals have changed: She was unwilling to hit some of the high notes required of the track, and her approach to singing has taken on an undesirable evenness. Essentially, her voice is still there, but its scope has begun to diminish.

However, the dark and electric "Gold Dust Woman" was able to infuse her performance with more energy than previous tracks. The following "Stand Back" brought some welcome 80's sound to a crowd eager for some dancing (even if it was often awkward).

Stevie Nicks then took a moment to explain the inspiration for the song "Soldier's Angel:" a visit to a military hospital. However, the description left a sour taste -- she seemed to emphasize her sacrifice of "7 or 8 hours" there more than the sacrifice of the young men putting their lives on the line.

But regardless, she finished her set with a trinity of blockbuster hits: Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon," and her own "Leather and Lace" and "Edge of Seventeen (Just Like the White Winged Dove)." By the time the last song played, the blatantly un-raucous crowd was singing and clapping along, and Nicks executed the songs with distinct accuracy. An encore of "Landslide" was clearly the highlight of her performance as it normally is, and the message was all the more powerful for a musician looking back on her career.

The curtain (which featured a technicolor steam engine) lifted for the ever-jacketed Rod Stewart about a half hour later at 9, though he maintained that they would play for as long as they could. And, true to his word, his performance ended close to the 11 o'clock curfew.

Starting with a cover of the O'Jays "Love Train," Rod exuded his seasoned showmanship throughout the set. He continued with "Tonight's the Night," a song that would perfectly complement a suburban summer night.

The swinging piano of "Having a Party" was countered by the slowness of the following "You Wear It Well." And after the Vietnam War feel of "Rhythm of My Heart," "Young Turks" did well to juxtapose increasing age with trying to maintain youthful fieriness.

Rod then brought out the "Pittsburgh Strings" to perform a few more songs, including Van Morrison's "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?" A rendition of "The First Cut Is the Deepest" employed the entire section, giving the song a depth of flavor.

Rod ended his night with two of his biggest hits: "Hot Legs" (during which he punted soccer balls into the crowd) and the classic "Maggie Mae," which the crowd began singing even before Rod himself.

An encore of "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" finished his enthusiastic set. For the night as a whole, Stevie Nicks' more subdued style was countered by Rod Stewart's always-animated performance- a well-executed one-two for the seasoned veterans.

Ok, I stopped reading after the line, "one is a founding member of Fleetwood Mac"........ignorant much?......with all the information so easily available.......with the years of interviews and articles written about Stevie and FWM right there on the Web to be read......there is no excuse for such a wrong statement to be printed. Damn, do your homework......if you could look up Rolling Stone calling Stevie the queen of rock & roll, then you could look up the year that Fleetwood Mac was formed and what year Stevie Nicks joined the band.

yeah i dont get the whole not standing thing either and then for them to be so rude and to pour pop on my seat really made me angry. i am such a nice person and would never be mean to anybody so to have people treat my sister and i this way really upset me. we did sit for the slow songs when others sat but not to sit during gold dust is a crime -ha!! i had to stop reading comments on the post gazette article because that guy rick keeps hasseling me about it. ugh people!!

I get so sick of every Post-Gazette's review having a ubiquitous mention of the change in her vocal range. Honestly, ever since I became a fan back in 98, every concert review has mentioned this as if it's news. Has she really hit the high notes in dreams even once in the past 30 years???
