Default Best Coast Covers "Storms" Live On Fallon

http://stereogum.com/1097081/watch-b...-fallon/video/

On the new Fleetwood Mac tribute compilation Just Tell Me That You Want Me, Best Coast tried their hand at the band’s classic-rock radio staple “Rhiannon.” But it’s not the only Fleetwood Mac cover that Best Coast have recorded lately. For a bonus 7″ that came with some editions of their new album The Only Place, Bethany Cosentino and friends also took on “Storms.” And when they came through Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night, the band brought that cover to the stage, giving Cosentino a chance to shimmer in a black dress and to flex some seriously impressive vocal chops. This performance would not get laughed out of the room on American Idol, and I mean that as a compliment. Watch it below

Slightly better than their poor Rhiannon cover but still pales in comparison to the original and adds nothing new.

I agree. I like how they're highlighting one of the better and more obscure songs in the Mac catalogue.

It was fine.

That song is going to be a hit someday, especially becuase it can be done country or alternative. I think it need to be turned into a duet. But I think somehow its going to be a hit.

Stevie has screwed up her own lyrics onstage countless times... so I don't think you can discount this band's (possible) fandom because of a flub.

I do agree with others that this sounds like a rather poor karaoke rendition of Storms, though. I had to turn it off. I'm sure a polished, autotuned studio version would be enjoyable, though.

Stevie's not that big of an FM fan. She doesn't know Don't Stop either.
