Excerpt from article written by Kenny Loggins on the Huffington Post:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kenny-...b_1676241.html This IS A Band! Posted: 07/16/2012 3:44 pm I recently read an interview with Lindsey Buckingham (of Fleetwood Mac), where he said how much fun he'd had in the studio recently, making his newest CD, all by himself! He said something like, "I didn't have to put up with endless discussions and rationalizations. Being in a band is the slowest, most frustrating process ever." And maybe he's right? Maybe the band-animal is just made that way. The word "D e m o c r a c y" IS inherently slow. "So it goes..." said Kurt Vonnegut. But let's not forget about the word "synergy" either, "when the result is greater than the sum of the parts." Call it The Beatles. Yes, call it Fleetwood Mac. And call it a few hundred other great bands. When collaboration works, it really works! Like I told Gary and Georgia, I've already made Kenny Loggins CDs. I want to see what Blue Sky Riders has to say this time. This is a band. To be continued ... |

Really interesting article.....points well taken.
though it is important to point out that Kenny is starting this creative process with new people and building a new relationship with them NOT trying to work in a creative situation with the same people he's been trying to work with for almost 40 years and who need a ginormous room to work in because not only do they have to fit in themselves (all 4 who are left) but all the tons and tons of baggage they each drag in with them.... It's easy to establish new relationships and patterns but very very very hard to establish new interaction patterns in decades-old relationships. |

When he says he recently interviewed Lindsey, does he mean it was done for SWS promo or is it a more recent than that even?

^He says he read an LB interview. I daresay he read something that we also read. He's just misremembering what Lindsey actually said, a bit. LB just probably talked about the painter/ movie maker thing again.

Ah, thanks. I read it before I'd had my morning cup of tea. I did think it was strange to have him interview Lindsey!
