Default US Festival 1982—New Documentary

There's some sort of new documentary in the works on the US Festival, celebrating the 30th anniversary. This teaser has a bunch of Fleetwood Mac footage.

Hmmm. Great news and maybe we're one step closer to getting FM's whole performance on video.

Wow, it is awesome to see such a clear recording of this concert. They all look better here (read not as drunk and high lol) than the LA forum shows we have all seen. Stevie is smoking hot. I will def get this when it comes out.

I could swear I heard or read back in 1982 that the band would not allow their whole set to be filmed.

Ohh. That would be such a bummer, if true and I bet even they would regret that now.

But it could be they wouldn't want footage to detract from their tour, so I could see it being possible that they'd lay down that rule and only allow a few segments to be video taped.

Nice...it's about time they do something. It really was a big deal back then. I remember hearing about it and seeing it all over MTV back then. We'll see this Labor Day. Hopefully it'll at least have some full songs like they did with the US 83.

I don't know if I believe that they didn't have their whole set taped. So far, have seen footage of The Chain, Rhiannon, Tusk, GYOW, Sisters, Songbird. That pretty much covers their set from beginning to end. They wouldn't just video a few seconds or a minute of the song and then shut off the cameras. It's been recorded. And...we...need...to...see...it...or else!

Such a dirty tease!!!! We can see Stevie bowing after Sisters at the end there. I bet the whole show is killer, even though it was only the 4th show on the Mirage Tour. I've also seen the first minute or so of "Hold Me" somewhere.

You know this for a fact, or are you making an assumption based on what would be logical?

Although your list of songs represents songs from the beginning, middle ,a nd end of the show, that doesn't necessarily mean they filmed the songs that were played in between the ones you mentioned.

Actually, this has been bothering me as to where I heard this, so I went through some old emails from a very old email account that I used back in the late 1990's, and it was Maureen Loftus who had told me that the band would not allow the entire US Festival show to be filmed. So I guess, take that for what it's worth.

But then again, Stevie mentions in the Crystal Visions DVD commentary that she didn't think FM ever filmed a complete show from start to finish. She actually says that she remembers bits and pieces of different shows being filmed, but never an an entire FM show. She evens mentions specifically "Sisters Of the Moon" as being a song that was filmed at a show, but not the entire show.

So will we ever know?
