What album contains Miss Stevie's best songs? Most say Tusk showcases her best. What's your opinon? I'm just including what she wrote AND sang.
White Album: Rhiannon Landslide Rumours: Dreams GDW Tusk: Sara Storms SOTM Angel Beautiful Child Mirage: That's Alright Gypsy Straight Back Tango in the Night: She only changed Seven Wonders, I don't think it counts. LOL WTTRS When I See You Again SYW: Illume Thrown Down SYW Smile at You RTTG Silver Girl EFO Destiny Rules Goodbye Baby Anyone who chooses TITN will be banned as a Ledgie FOR-EVA!! LMAO!! I'm kidding. Now, do you think that people mostly say Tusk because it's the amount of songs on the CD, or are they REALLY her best? I mean two of her most enduring songs are on the White Album, Rumours holds the only #1 song FM has had, so.....are her Tusk songs REALLY the best batch of songs? Edited because I'm an IDIOT!!! I forgot to put SYW in the mix!! DUR!!!! LOL Yeah, SYW has more songs than Tusk, but I still think Tusk is the better overall batch of songs....there's not ONE bad song in the Tusk bunch...can't say that about SYW.

I like them all - but I pick Mirage for many reasons including that it was my first record where I was old enough to appreciate them. Plus, these three are great in my opinion and she sounds and looks positively delicious at this time.

This is the order in which I like them:
Tusk Mirage Say You Will Rumours (You forgot I Don't Want to Know) Fleetwood Mac Behind the Mask (forgot that album too!) Tango In the Night I fell in love with her Tusk songs via the box set which I had before getting the Tusk album. I remember hearing the songs and how beautfully delicate they were, but strong at the same time. I had known Sara from the radio, but BC, Angel, SOM, and Storms....wow. I could identify with all those songs at that time when I had first heard them, and they've always been very special to me. Sara--a Stevie Nicks ballad if I had ever heard one (before Leather and Lace)...must be why all the soft rock stations play it! Beautiful Child--delicate, yet by the end, Stevie grows stronger Angel--kind of a "take that Lindsey" song, full of strength, yet fun SOM--if you had to pick a song that was the most Stevie-ish, this would be the one...it's very trippy, lots of imagery, it's just HER Storms--sad but reflective...I love the percussion--reminds me of those big pipe windchimes

![]() I guess I kinda looked at IDWTK as a half and half thing, yes, she wrote it, but they sing it together, oh, heck, this is too technical. LOL!!

Her BTM songs are way up there for me. I know they are not her most poular and many dislike them, but I, and a few others (with taste
), really like them. Unfortunately, the alt. versions that I have heard are like ten times better than the ones that made the record. The difference really is stunning. |

Tusk....no doubt about it.
"Storms" "Sara" "Beautiful Child" "Sisters of the Moon" "Angel" Not a clunker in the bunch. It's a damn shame she only got five. |

I want to change my vote on the album order...it's too damn hard because I know Tusk is my fave, but I really like her voice on BTM--her songs are good, but I LOVE her backing vocals for the other songs. Grrrr too hard! I think her work on Rumours is sort of overrated because of Dreams. SYW is wonderful because I never thought I would see her on another FM album....so I don't really know what I change. Why did I give Mirage 2nd place? The songs are sort of weak and I think she just got them done in a hurry due to her solo career and Robin's illness....
Thank YOU, StevieRocks87 for that vote of confidence! ![]()

could you edit Rumours to include Silver Springs. It HAS to count. And if it does count, Rumours is #1 Gold Dust Woman, Silver Springs, and Dreams. That's just TOO much GREATNESS. But then how could i forget the tusk songs. Beautiful Child and Sisters of the Moon are just the gretest two songs. Stroms is Beautiful, Angel is her first real rocking vocal "in the studio" The only weak link in the tusk songs is "Sara" which really isn't that weak. I love it actually but it's not AS perfectiony. Now SYW. If i take the 6 best songs from it, it wins. BUT you can't bring down Tusk or Rumours because they were made 20 years earlier. So I don't Silver Girl and Goodbye baby is quite boring. So here's my order..
. 1. Rumours. 2. Tusk. 3. SYW. 4. Fleetwood Mac. 5. Mirage. 6. Tango in the Night. 7. Behind the Mask

With the recording of Tusk...Stevie, clearly was coming into her own....and I think (this is just my opinion, i wasn't there) at that time she was coming out of her shell a bit......she lived through the whole Rumours "drama" and felt quite confident going in to the studio to record these songs........and IMO that confidence shines through with all 5 of those tracks. Which ultimately led her to her solo career...
So I would put: 1. Tusk 2. Rumours 3. Say You Will 4. Fleetwood Mac 5. Mirage 6. Tango in the Night 7. Behind the Mask |

For me it's easier to pick out the songs from each album that resonate the most. Hence:
Sara (Tusk) Landslide (White album) Gypsy (Mirage) Fireflies (Live) Rhiannon (white album) Gold Dust Woman (Rumours) Angel (Tusk) Dreams (Rumours) Sisters of the Moon (Tusk) Storms (Tusk) That's just the top 10. After that it would get harder. Tango and Behind the Mask songs would be at the bottom of the list. I don't like any of the SWY songs enough to put on my top 10. That could change. |

It's so hard, for me, to chose between Rumours, SYW, and Tusk. All three are greatness, IMO, as far as Stevie's stuff is concerned. I think I'm gonna have to pick SYW as my favorite, just because there are *more* songs on there than on Tusk or Rumours, and the only one I really don't care too much for, is Illume. Tusk I guess would be second, just for the simple fact that Storms is on there. Probably my favorite Stevie song ever.
Anyhoo...I guess my list would be: 1. SYW 2. Tusk 3. Rumours 4. White Album 5. Mirage 6. Tango 7. BTM ~Angela~ |
