Count me as very jealous! My most recent turn table broke a couple of years ago, and I've never bothered replacing it. They are fickle beasts for sure. But I truly do miss listening to my lp's. It's just neat hearing older albums in the format most people originally experienced them in. Plus, I know on some albums (like Tusk) there are sounds/vocals/instrumentation which are present on the lp which are not on the cd. I live for subtle little treats like that!

Dang, sorry about yours breaking, that must've been a heartbreaker I have yet to even get Tusk on CD but I have heard that it sounds amazing on LP! I love old (well to me they're old haha) things like that

Matt, love is such a chore. Okay, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE?????? I'm serious.

What? Even though I'm still working on finding.....IT......the one change I made, a couple of years ago, is NO FEAR. What's the worst that can happen? Getting rejected, even if it's a second rejection? Because only then, will you know...know that you had strong feelings, and TRIED. At least you can walk away, with the knowledge and comfort, that you did let them know. There's nothing worse than wondering, "what if I'd only told them how I feel?". Nut up, and get it done.

I wish you the best!

Congratulations! I recently replaced my turntable; I'd say it was my favorite purchase of 2011.

Best Buy has a great Sony turntable - basic - no frills, but affordable.

And - JTIS - I'm trying hard to stay off of eBay today. I want to buy records...it's become a problem of mine. Madonna on vinyl - it's calling to me.

AWESOME! I hope my advice helped.

NO fear! All they can say is "no". I'd rather feel rejection with a "no", than wonder "what if", forever, from being a p*ssy(and I say that from experience).

The one my parents got was at Target for about 120 dollars. It plays casset tapes, CDs, radio, LP's and iPods/MP3s.

I still have a collection of them. Granted, it's not as big as my CD or Record collection, but I still listen to them.

I do but I rarely play them. I bought a tape to mp3 player and they don't transfer very well. Upon playback I have to crank the volume and it still is hard to hear. Perhaps you can help me figure out a better way? I have many FM concerts that are better quality than the mp3's people have posted and I would love to share them. I know you are a maestro of recordings.

$130. Features a built in pre-amp, so if y0ur receiver doesn't have the phono input jack you can still use it. The sound is great, too! Otherwise, it's a no-frills record player that does exactly what you need it to do.

I know to some $130 may not seem cheap, but considering that turntables go for up to $2500 and more - it seemed like a bargain to me.
