Well, I think he is probably more willing to discuss the musical inspirations than the personal ones.

I can't imagine that at least part of Come is not about Anne Heche, seeing as how she went through a period when she actually thought she was God and called herself Celestia.

It's totally about her

Where did you hear that? Was that in her book?

Yes, it was in her book.

I wonder who decorated Lindsey's guest room back then.

Of course, there might be elements of someone else in there too, but I think he definitely saved Anne a place in Come and Miranda too. Sexual abuse by the father.

LOL. Hmmm. yeah, so AH called herself God, but I always thought God and Anne were two different characters in the song. God is clearly Stevie - or CAH. And between the two, my money's on Stevie.

What about "Down On Rodeo" Michele? That whole end part is definitely for her.

Miranda and DOR also, I agree. He clearly really cared for her. And I only read the parts in her book that were about Lindsey, but she had only kind words to say about him.

yeah, but if he wrote and recorded those songs (well, Miranda mainly) before she wrote it all out in her book, then i'd have a problem with his lack of discretion if i were her, frankly. yes those lyrics are not literal, but they are clear enough. and caroline, miranda, etc are pretty thinly veiled names.

On my own, I never heard the "Annie". It's discussing it here and on FM Legacy that I became aware of it.

Yeah, we know the Mir-ANNE-da one. I'd forgotten about DOR though, thanks for reminding.

I know Lindsey said explicitly that Come was about Anne Heche, in case anyone's unclear- it was in an article on the.. either the Madness Fades website or this website.
Something like, "Oh, you figured that out? Well, yeah, she.. blah blah blah.." (I forget the rest.)

I have to laugh at the "yes exactly." It could mean, "Yes, I totally stole it" or "Yes, I have no idea what song you're talking about, but I'll play it off."
Nice one Michele. Insead of replying, I'll just make the observation that you have more one-liners than a Bond movie. Good and to the point ones, I might add

Stevie's commentary for her Everyday video: "Men in trees! Men in trees!"

Speaking of Miranda, I watched the 48 Hours Hollywood crime special (with the Natalie Wood story featured) and learned about a woman who called herself Miranda and had phone "relationships" with a ton of male celebrities in the '70's and 80's. I had to wonder if Lindsey might have used the name at least, tongue in cheek. "Miranda is bringing the stars down."

I saw the "guest room" part as drawing me towards Anne, because unlike Stevie, Cheri and CAH, he didn't live with Anne. She visited him. So, I see that reference as alluding to someone who never took up full residence with him.

Of course, the other meaning is that he tried to keep her out of his mind. Tried to compartmentalize and keep it, her, out of his main thoughts when he had other things to attend to, which clearly he has said he has done with Stevie. So, I can see a Stevie there, but is speaks to me more of Anne and also her aspirations to be famous. That's why I think she's going in style. Stevie has a lavish lifestyle, of course, but they made it to success together and I don't know if her extravagances are as noticeable to him as Anne's would be. She had no career when he knew her, but she was aspiring and always wanted more than she had.

So . . . I attributed those lines to Anne. If anything I think harmony is about Stevie, but actually about both of them. Old harmony v. new harmony, maybe.

Michele
