All women are offended by the C word. I never use it but when I hear it I'm not upset by it.

In some long ago interview with Stevie(Timespace) she was saying how she never swears in public. She always tries to find another word to use instead. So I took her advice and I hardly ever swear in public. Recently I was complaining how hot it was and I used the F word and someone who has known me for 4 years said, "Mark, I've never heard you swear before."

Like bluefox(Mick) said, it depends who I am with whether I swear or not.

And just FYI Stevie was complaining to an interviewer why she wasn't comfortable with the title Sometimes it's a Bi&%h.

In many ways Polish "kurwa" can be described as an equivalent of f-word. There are so many people who use it constantly (even if it's not quite needed). I must confess, that too many times I find myself saying this word out in the public, without a special reason just to emphasize my statements. At work I can't swear at all because as a young University teacher I must be well behaved but there are times, when I just wish I could say a bit more than just "sorry Ms/Mr but you're not prepared for the exam again!!!"

I swear a LOT! F is great. I'll never understand why apparently all women are so offended by the C word.

However, my favorite word of all time....is douchebag. Oh douchebag, how I love thee!!!
It paints such a beautiful picture in my mind...

One of my latest phrases though, is "F me with a chainsaw".

I don't curse.

On a rare occasion I might slip out the "d" word or use something in front of the word "a$$", i.e. Big, Smart, Lazy, Slow, etc

I do agree that occasionally a word or two is needed, but going around where every other word is a curse word just isn't good, in my opinion.

You're not part of the group it's applied to. Take it from me--it's offensive.

I certainly hope we all accept that the f----t and n------ are appalling, even those of us who will never be called those words. Why is c treated differently by many men, even though almost all women object to it?

The F word you mention is a very tricky grey area over here in rainy old Yorkshire because it's an item of food (Basically baked offal "balls") as well as an insult.

I know what your second favourite word is... haha.

By the way, a female friend of mine makes a very good point when she says that she is not offended by the 'c'word. Instead, she is more offended by the fact that apparently the most offensive curse word refers to the female body - there are far worse things than that! That annoys her.

Well the rule in our job (I'm a carpet sales consultant) is you can't swear unless the customer does first.

So the customer comes in and says "I need to carpet my f***ing house, the f***ing wife wants to put in a f***ing blue carpet, but I don't want any of that s**t."

Then you have to tailor the response to the client. I tend to still tone it down but my manager is very good (?) at joining in swearing with the client.

That may be alien to the Americans amongst us where everyone gets told to have a nice day even if you wish them dead. However, as Australian we don't quite do things that way, and find overly patronising service annoying. If I walk into a shop and someone calls me Sir, I will tell them not to.

Yorkshire? Oh god I was born in Sheffield and spent the first years of my life in Rotherham (apparently the teen pregnancy capital of the UK!)
