Fleetwood Mac had two arguing couples whereas Oasis had one set of arguing brothers. FM win!

At least Oasis support the correct football team

Fleetwood Mac clearly had their influences but had an original sound all their own that although others had tried could not be copied.Oasis IMO are totally derivative of other bands..picking the pockets of The Beatles ,The Kinks etc shamelessly.

I believe that Noel Gallagher once said that women can't rock, and then gave an example how women ruined Fleetwood Mac.

I remember Germaine Greer once said that men can't do anything, and then gave an example as to how Noel Gallagher ruined Oasis.

I think it's unfair to compare two bands from two different generations that both have different legacy's and both achieved different things. I think who is better is just a matter of opinion. Theres no right or wrong answer. There will always be someone who prefers fleetwood mac, there will always be someone who prefers Oasis then theres someone who will be like who? aha. I'm a 90s kid i have grew up with Oasis and i still listen to them now and when i do I'm reminded of my childhood or my friend from college who was so obsessed with them. BUT I do and always will prefer Fleetwood Mac. I kind of discovered Fleetwood Mac on my own with no family or friends influence and I will always love them for the impact they had on me as a person and how whatever emotional state I was in there was always a song for me. I'm sure many Oasis fans have that connection with their music too, like i said it's just a matter of opinion. (:

Fleetwood Mac survived losing a guitar god to religion/mental illness, a brilliant slide guitarist to religion, an unsung guitar hero to alcoholism/mental illness, a revolving door of musicians, tours getting cut short, a fake Mac, two divorces and a break-up of a long term relationship, solo careers, another set of revolving door musicians, a presidential campaign, breaking up, reuniting, and losing their anchor/rock.

Oasis didn't survive sibling rivalry.
